Historia
Beverly Underwood and her arch enemy, Lula Dean, live in the tiny town of Troy, Georgia, where they were born and raised. Now Beverly is on the school board, and Lula has become a local celebrity by embarking on mission to rid the public libraries of all inappropriate books—none of which she’s actually read. To replace the “pornographic” books she’s challenged at the local public library, Lula starts her own lending library in front of her home: a cute wooden hutch with glass doors and neat rows of the worthy literature that she’s sure the town’s readers need.

Everyone Should Read This!!!
Revisado: 08-19-24
If this doesn’t hit home, I don’t know what will. I live in Florida, so the topic of burning books is very relevant. I believe everyone who doesn’t understand how big of problem this should read this. It explains why this is such an important topic and right we shouldn’t have taken away.
I loved hearing all the stories and how an entire town was effected. It was inspiring.

Part 2
Revisado: 08-29-17
It was not as good as the first part, but it's the middle so it has a lot of substance. It keeps the story going and I can't wait for the last part!
I'm not sure why it's not available on audible??? It is available when I search but when I sign in it's not. Kinda disappointing Audible!
Anyway, hopefully it will be shortly!

Historia
From the London pop scene, to the opera stages of Europe; from a tiny Greek island, to a stifling manor house full of secrets and deceptions; from the sun-drenched Queensland coast, to the silent outback; Angela and Ellie are two women both looking for something. One in search of her identity and her memory; the other in search of the love that she had and lost; theirs is a duet whose last note will not be sung until the heart-stopping climax, when a shadow from the past returns to claim them both.

I will listen to more from Kimberley Freeman
Revisado: 01-31-14
Would you try another book from Kimberley Freeman and/or Caroline Lee?
I have listen to Caroline Lee before, and I think she is awesome. As for Kimberley Freeman, she had me looking for other novels before I finished this one.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I want to be a spoiler, so I will say I liked how it all played out. I don’t think it was as predictable, and I liked getting to know each character. I will say it was slow at times, and there was a little something missing. Nevertheless, I liked it and I will find more from this author.
What three words best describe Caroline Lee’s voice?
Entrancing, Delightful, and Captivating. She really is one of my favorites.
Could you see Duet being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I could see this becoming a movie, or at least a lifetime movie. I’m not sure on the cast, but as long as they were convincing, it would be worth watching.

Pleasing, keeps you intrigued.
Revisado: 01-31-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I thought this was a good story. It was a little predictable but still worthwhile. If I could change anything it would be something about Grania. Because she was a major character and intertwined in the story, she is very important. However, at times unlikeable, annoying, and unconnected. Grania’s and Matt’s dialog with the “honey and baby” got to be very over the top. Also, I would have liked to hear more of a back story about Ann’s Russian mother. I’m not sure if changing these factors would elevate the book to a “great”.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Girl on the Cliff?
Lucinda Riley did a remarkable job moving from past to present. I prefer listening to stories from the past, but because she kept a natural flow to the story, the present day story was also captivating. Listening to the story of Mary was the best part of the story for me. I liked Aurora as the narrator of the story, she was the glue that put it all together.

Enchanting Mystery
Revisado: 02-19-13
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I enjoyed the book of Fairy Tales, and how each of the tales revealed more about the mystery. I thought the setting was a wonderful aspect of the story. The old castle and mysterious cottage took the audience away on the journey. This is my second book by Kate Morton, and it is clear she does intensive research. Her attention to detail makes her stories believable. After I read this book, I wanted to hunt down this factious book of Fairy Tales. Its a easy listen, and very enjoyable.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Caroline Lee?

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

One of the Best Books Ever!
Revisado: 01-30-13
What made the experience of listening to The Book Thief the most enjoyable?
This one of those rare books you will want to experience more than once. Its pulls you in fast, and before you know it’s over, and you it leaves you breathless. I could stop thinking about each of the characters, like they were family.
I really believe everyone should read this book. Once your deep into this book, you have the feeling things are going to end bad, but as much as you cry, you also laugh, and feel good for have listened to someone telling a important story.
What did you like best about this story?
I think the most impressive thing about this book is, it is narrated by “Dealth” or the Grim Reaper, and who knew a person could feel compassion for the Grim Reaper.
Which scene was your favorite?
I don’t want to give any scenes away, because I actually read reviews. But once you commit to this book, you will love it.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"The only thing worse than a boy who hates a girl, is a boy who loves a girl."

Enjoyable, Twists, Memorable
Who was your favorite character and why?
I enjoyed all the characters in this book, and I loved how much each character developed as the book reveals its secrets.
What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?
Awesome performance, loved listening to this book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"You may never know all your family secrets." I think it would make a great movie.
Any additional comments?
This is the first Kate Morton book I have read, but I have already downloaded my next. The story was engaging; it really kept you guessing until the end. The back drop of war time and the history details inserted into the story were interesting. Perfect for readers who love a good story and want to feel like they are learning something about the past.

In The Kingmaker's Daughter, number one New York Times best-selling author Philippa Gregory presents the riveting story of Anne Neville, her sister Isabel, and their ever-changing fortunes. Revisado: 08-30-12
Would you listen to The Kingmaker's Daughter again? Why?
The thing about Philippa Gregory’s books is you can always read them again! I find my self cross referencing her other books in this series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It’s amazing how you read one of the books in the series, and you are completely behind the main character. Then you read another and you change your mind completely. I think now that I have read all three, I need to read them again to decide which character is really my favorite.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Anne and Isabelle made up after fighting for so long. I think it was a perfect scene to show how sisters can have so much hate and envy towards each other, but sisterly love is forever. However, the most intense scene was when Isabelle went into labor on the ship. It was so intense and powerful. The scene set the tone for the events that followed.

Best Book from Emily Giffen
Revisado: 08-29-12
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved all the characters in this book. Kirby Rose was my favorite; she was a perfect representation of most 18 year old girls who don’t have the rest of their life mapped out. I enjoyed Marian, a thirty something, who seems to have it all. However, she is likeable because she proves women who seem to have everything also have major imperfections. Then again, the men in this book take it up a notch. Peter and Conrad are both gorgeous and I hope this one makes it to the big screen!
What does Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I enjoyed the personality she brought to each character. The narration performance was fabulous; I especially liked what she did with Kirby.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I finished it in a few days. But, the second part was even harder to stop.
Any additional comments?
Everything from Emily Giffen is good, but I think this book is her best!
