Historia
The Kennedy name has long been synonymous with wealth, power, glamor, and—above all else—integrity. But this carefully constructed veneer hides a dark truth: the pattern of Kennedy men physically and psychologically abusing women and girls, leaving a trail of ruin and death in each generation’s wake. Through decades of scandal after scandal—from sexual assaults to reputational slander, suicides to manslaughter—the family and their defenders have kept the Kennedy brand intact.

Justice served
Revisado: 07-28-24
What an incredible listen. Nothing can ever undo the damage that was done to these fierce, brilliant women, but this book gives them some measure of justice. They are more than just footnotes in history, and I am so glad that I got to learn more about who they were before their lives were destroyed by the Kennedy men.

Good story, but not a murder mystery
Revisado: 05-26-24
It was an entertaining and interesting book, but I probably would have liked it better if I hadn’t been expecting an Agatha Christie “And Then There Were None” style locked-room mystery as the description promised. It was not really a mystery because we know almost right away who the killer is and why they are doing it. I was looking for more of a "whodunit", so I was a bit disappointed. But otherwise, the story itself was engrossing and Imogen Church did a great job as always. Not my favorite Ruth Ware book, but not her worst, either. It's definitely worth a listen!

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

OUTSTANDING!
Revisado: 03-30-24
Hands down, one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. The story was both suspenseful and laugh-out-loud funny, and the narration really made the whole thing even more fantastic. I think if you were to just read the book, you’d be missing out. Highly recommend!!!

Historia
It was supposed to be fun. A relaxing trip to a remote mountain retreat where there’s no phone reception. Three couples, friends since high school, are looking forward to a weekend of drinking, reminiscing and flirting. When someone suggests swapping partners, it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. The lights will be switched off, for privacy. It’s not really cheating if you don’t know who you were with, right? But when the lights come back on, one of the men is dead. No-one can agree who was in which bedroom with whom.

Creepy and fun!
Revisado: 12-09-23
I really enjoyed this book! I’d say it’s more creepy than scary, maybe even a little campy, but so much fun. The narrators were excellent, especially the one who did Louise’s voice. She did such a great job conveying emotion. Definitely recommend!

Historia
Masterfully blending elements of psychological suspense and true crime, Jessica Knoll—bestselling author of Luckiest Girl Alive and the writer behind the Netflix adaptation starring Mila Kunis—delivers an “unflinching and evocative” (Laura Dave, New York Times bestselling author) thriller in Bright Young Women. The book opens on a Saturday night in 1978, hours before a soon-to-be-infamous murderer descends upon a Florida sorority house with deadly results. The lives of those who survive, including a sorority president and key witness, Pamela Schumacher, are forever changed.

I didn’t expect to come away from this book in tears, but here I am, sobbing for Ruth, Pam, Tina, and Denise. Although we know the fates of these women in advance, the story was still tense and suspenseful, but also beautiful and touching at the same time. Download it now…you won’t be sorry.

Revisado: 07-29-23
I loved We Are All the Same in the Dark, so I was so excited when I saw that Julia Heaberlin released another book. It was even more engrossing! I loved the characters and didn’t see the twists coming. Karissa Vacker is, as always, an incredibly talented narrator and she makes the characters come alive. Highly recommend!

Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.
