TL;DR because of this book, I'm kinder (to myself) and more certain of myself and my decisions.
I resisted the urge to share this book, constantly, until chapter 3. At that point, I couldn't resist any longer because I KNEW so many people needed this as much as I did. It gave me a the courage, and now the confidence, to become the advocate that I've been encouraging the people around me to be. I can again stir the shit pot of inequality and injustice for those around me without feeling as if I'm in the wrong just by being present. Moreso, I find myself adjusting my posture, tone, and thinking wherever I am so that people can know that I'm a CFB and not to be dismissed.

One of our favorite books!
Revisado: 06-01-18
I love the "it's okay to be different/ yourself" and "your voice/ vote matters" messages in this book. Not only does it remind us to just be ourselves, but- and this is true- that we should accept others as they are!

Mystery, suspense, & an unexpected journey
Revisado: 11-01-17
This book, while in the beginning a little difficult to get through, is worth every minute spent on the "too many details/ too much back story" that is every first book in a series. Your suspicions, while numerous, are probably all wrong. It was so hard to put down once the story really got going that I actually asked if I could mow the lawn instead of my husband (something I never do as I'd rather spend the time with our 2 year old. Yes 2 year old). Don't even hesitate if you're thinking about reading this series. Just do it, the books only get better.
My ONLY complaint about the audio format is that the reader changes between some of the books, but the story makes up for it!
*Note- I did not buy THIS book, I borrowed the audio version from a friend, but I did buy the rest of the series and plan on buying the next one as well.
