Beautifully honest and mesmerising

This story, although a novel, is based on true events and people of WWII. It is captivating and captures the emotions so well that you can almost imagine what it was like to live during that time. A definite must to listen to.

A delightful surprise!

I didn't know what to expect from The Last Bookshop in London but I was absolutely captured by this novel. it gives a real and human view of life sitting the early World War II days with all the unknowns and fears but told with such compassion and care. it is a beautiful story of courage, grit and how good overcomes all. An absolute delight! The narration is exceptional, just what I have come to expect from Saskia. I most certainly will listen to more of Madelein Martin's books.

Up there with Yhe Nightingale

I was sucked into this book from the first page. Very different to one of my other Hannah novels, The Nightingale, but just a human a story and brilliantly performed. A Hannah must read.

An okay read

I struggled to get into this book, and it wasn't my favourite Barbara O'Neal novel. I think I was put off by the performance, but the story was rich. I was eager to hear the end, but I don't feel like I miss the characters now that I have finished the novel.

An absolute MUST READ for any parent or care giver

They day raising children doesn't come with a manual but Lisa has really gone to great lengths to try give parents and care givers an easy to understand 'manual' to understanding what is going on with our adolescent girls, how to approach various situations, when to be concerned and what to say. I listened to it from stay to finish and now I'm going to listen to it again, making notes that I can go back to.

in the last 2 weeks that I've been listening to the audio book, I have already applied so many of the revelations I have learnt and my relationship with my eldest daughter is already MUCH better. I cannot recommend this book enough!!!!

Yet another winner

Although the Rose Code starts off a bit slow, it develops into an excellent and believable story. Expertly delivered by Saskia Maaarleveld!!! I just wish Kate had given the research credits at the end like she food for her other books. Worth a read if you are aKate Quinn fan.

Another exceptional work!

Yet another excellent work by Kate Quinn and expertly narrated by Saskia. By all accounts, the story is very close to exact happenings, with some brilliant tweaks by Kate to make it one you can't put down!

It took me some time to get into this novel but it had a strong story and finish. I still think The Alice Network is Quinn's best novel but this is a good read none the less.

This was an excellent book, deep with chapters that you could just feel the constant struggle faced by Elsa. But press on, it makes the end so much more worthwhile. Another stunner by Kristin Hannah.
