Historia
"Big Bob" Bashara put on a respectable face. To his friends in Detroit's affluent suburb of Grosse Pointe, he was a married father of two, Rotary Club President, church usher, and soccer dad who organized charity events with his wife, Jane. To his "slaves", he was "Master Bob", a cocaine-snorting slumlord who operated a sex dungeon and had a submissive girlfriend to do his bidding - and he wanted more slaves to serve him. But Bashara knew he couldn't rule a household of concubines on his income alone. He eyed his wife's sizable retirement account and formulated a murderous plan.

Extremely Boring!
Revisado: 09-08-20
You would think with the subject matter this would be an interesting listen/read but this has to be the most boring re-telling of a true crime story. I’m not sure if was the writer’s fault or the narrator’s but overall the story just dragged on. Very disappointing.

Don't bother absolute snooze fest
Revisado: 05-12-16
This book almost put me in a trance to the point that I almost drove off the side of the road listening to the robotic narration of the narrator. Her story is boring and the author gave very little insight into the horrific and tragic events that lead to massacre of so many innocent people. She glorified Jim Jones and questioned whether it was really true about what happened. Then she spent another boring hour or so talking about another cult she was in and she glorified that cult as well. I learned nothing or felt inspired. It was poorly written and the author just capitalized on a horrific event in history without really telling the truth in my opinion. Don't waste your credit on this book.

With this captivatingly witty debut, Vicky Dreiling immediately established herself as an author of note in the world of Regency romance. How to Seduce a Scoundrel introduces readers to Miss Julianne Gatewick, a comely lass who finds herself seduced by a rake’s sensual waltz. But when the unapologetic lothario leaves her all aflutter—and moves on to his next dalliance—Julianne decides to prick the sides of scoundrels everywhere by penning a guide to reeling in England’s most notorious cads.

Boring.....Like watching paint dry!
Revisado: 11-11-14
Would you try another book from Vicky Dreiling and/or Elizabeth Jasicki?
This is my second book from Vicky Dreiling and I enjoyed the first one -- however, this book was so boring I doubt if I could listen to another one.
Has How to Seduce a Scoundrel turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, not at all.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Either it was the narration, or the monotonous story-telling that just seemed to drone on and on..... I had to skip around a lot. The voices for the other characters were horrid - especially the friends voices which is really odd because the narrator did not sound this bad with another book I had listened from her.
What character would you cut from How to Seduce a Scoundrel?
The H and the heroine were both insufferable and boring -- never direct about how they felt. Too many hurt feeling, and the H was marginally sadistic on how he treated her, at one point I expected him to spank her. It was disgusting. She on the other hand had no spunk, no personality just a lot of hurt feelings. -- Yet, she was brave enough to write a pamphlet to guide young woman on the art of seduction, but was clueless on how to snare the H. Completely unbelievable as a plot device and totally unnecessary to the story.
