This author matures with each book, the temper tantrum prone hero is becoming an unpredictable but complex adult. The author keeps up the pace and tone. This is all around good and getting better

Again! This is not literary award material and I don't think it's intended to be. If you are looking for mind bending edge of your seat literature there are lots of other tittles from other authors! This is my third listen of the series and I'm getting attached to some of the characters. Some books are meant for reading others for listening. Conroe falls in this last category, fast moving urban phantasy, lots of action, a bit of romance, a dab of funny, a drop of technology, a smidgeon of gunplay, but above all: an easy listen...

Conroe's work seems tailored for audio books. He keeps it light, positive, fun. He manages to make you smile and does not get lost in unending fights or romantic moments. Looking for something to listen to while going at chores, driving or cleaning house? Look no further.

Yes! It's magnificent fun!

What other book might you compare The Aeronaut's Windlass to and why?

A very good Saga... You choose one... Lord of the rings? harry Potter? The Dresden files with much more substance? Game of Thrones with an actual hero? A good, fun listen. Must also be a great read it in print!

You did it Jim! it's got Harry Dresden bite + substance + imagination + (spoiler alert) cool talking cats .... ! It's great fun! Please work on a sequel. I don't know if you read these critics and comments, if you do, please take note that in my library, you books are now on the same shelf as Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
P.S. please translate to french ASAP so my girlfriend can also read it!

If you could sum up Just One Damned Thing After Another in three words, what would they be?

A time travel science fiction with a tiny hint of fantastic.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Well defined, if not complex, characters.

What does Zara Ramm bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Excellent Zara Ramm (the female narrator) does not overly compensate to produce male voices.
(a general note about narrators: Unless you are a top grade voice imitator, ''DO NOT'' over compensate for male or female voices; it is distracting and slightly irritating. No manner of voice artistry or full cast production can compensate for a badly written book...)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

no idea... :-) I'm not a film buff!

Time travel is a delicate subject in fiction at any time. But the author found a simple Deus ex machina (hence the hint of fantastic) and stayed away from explaining a pseudo scientific means. It still has small contradictions relating to time travel but hey! If you can solve that one you are probably smarter and more imaginative then Albert Einstein.
If you are not overly OCD about time travel paradox, this is a fun and easy listen. You can cook, clean the house or endure a long drive with pleasure...

the new reader made it petfect! the story was excellent to start but a real cockney voice narating ? A delight! WE WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!!

There are some redeeming educational quotes hidden in this series! This is obviously not serious adult material but adult material can be very boring so... Be a kid and have fun
