Juxtaposition of class and personalities - beautiful, great book.
Revisado: 03-26-25
At the surface, some may find the story simplistic. But, there are so many complexities to the story that make it a book I would love to talk about with someone. I loved the book. Excellent narration.

Historia
Owen Larrabee is not my soulmate. He wasn't when I confessed my love to him on his wedding day, and he isn't now. I should probably say that I wasn't the bride when that happened. I don't have the best timing. He's got a temper, he's moody, and he has a history of being misunderstood and making big mistakes. I, on the other hand, make pumpkin cupcakes, spend my Friday nights curled up with a beloved romance novel, and long to be kissed in the rain. Owen is my best friend's older, off-limits brother and the only boy I ever thought I loved.

This is a hallmark-movie type book that is enjoyable. It’s a light, easy listen. The narrators were okay. I think I would have enjoyed different narrators more, but the narration was okay.

Revisado: 09-26-24
I didn’t realize this was a sequel to The Girl Who Dared To Dream and I was so excited when I figured it out as the book progressed. I hope there’s a third book on the way to complete storylines. I loved the book and its superb narration. This author has a delicious way with words that make me smile and laugh, especially when paired with the British narrator.

So good
Revisado: 09-13-24
I loved this book! It’s incredible to think of the hardships people faced when traveling west in the 1850’s. I enjoyed reading about the complexities of the different Indian tribes and their relationship to those traveling west. I, also, enjoyed the narration and felt it suited the characters well. Highly recommend

Incredible book. 100/10. I couldn’t stop listening- this book is incredibly compelling, and I love the narrator Julia Whelan. I don’t want to say much because I don’t want to give a single detail away. I would highly recommend listening to The Women and then Kristen Hannah’s The Great Alone as a f/u book. Both are incredible books. Thank you, KH, for remembering the incredible women (and all the military) who served during Vietnam. The Women is a masterpiece.
