Save your money!
Revisado: 05-31-23
The 1st couple of chapters aren’t too bad but wasn’t worth the money. After about half way through it gets really boring.

Historia
Travis Barker's soul-baring memoir chronicles the highlights and lowlights of the renowned drummer's art and his life, including the harrowing plane crash that nearly killed him and his traumatic road to recovery. After breaking out as the acclaimed drummer of the multiplatinum punk band Blink-182, everything changed for Travis Barker. But the dark side of rock stardom took its toll: His marriage, chronicled for an MTV reality show, fell apart. Constant touring concealed a serious drug addiction. A reckoning did not truly come until he was forced to face mortality.

Very long & drawn out
Revisado: 11-09-22
I knew it was going to be a long book but it really dragged along. After about 6 chapters I found myself skipping through a lot of it. The narrator makes it even worse. Not a bad book but way too wordy.

Historia
Trauma and Recovery is revered as the seminal text on understanding trauma survivors. By placing individual experience in a broader political frame, Harvard psychiatrist Judith Herman argues that psychological trauma is inseparable from its social and political context. Drawing on her own research on incest, as well as a vast literature on combat veterans and victims of political terror, she shows surprising parallels between private horrors like child abuse and public horrors like war.

Too slow for me
Revisado: 02-18-21
After listening for a few hours I realized how the story seemed to drag on and on. I did not care for the book.

Historia
When it comes to the “hard seasons” of life—the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job—transformation seems impossible when grief and uncertainty dominate your days. Especially when, as Didn’t See that Coming reveals, no one asks to have their future completely rearranged for them. But, as Rachel Hollis writes, it is up to you how you come through your pain—you can come through changed for the better, having learned and grown, or stuck in place where your identity becomes rooted in what hurt you.

Historia
When Maureen and her ex-husband Mike see their daughter Katie’s needle track marks for the first time, it is a complete shock. But, slowly, the drug use explains everything - Katie’s constant exhaustion, erratic moods, and all those spoons that have gone missing from the house. Once Mike and Maureen get Katie into detox, Maureen goes to sleep that night hoping that in 48 hours she’ll have her daughter back. It’s not that simple. Like the millions of parents and relatives all over the country, Maureen learns that recovery is neither straightforward nor brief.

Highly recommended makes you feel a part of the story
Revisado: 02-22-20
I really enjoyed this book and listening to the mothers experience of battling her own daughters addiction and how she never gave up on her and she always made sure her daughter knew she was loved no matter what and from the tragic experiences she’s had to go through with her daughters many overdoses and different rehab programs only to continue back down the same path and overdosing again and again! The mother was able to take a negative and horrible situation and open up a facility that’s known worldwide to help others that are struggling personally or from a friend or a family member w addition as many don’t quite understand the disease fully.

Great book and I love her sense of humor
Revisado: 02-06-20
I love how the story is told and how her personality is and it is a really good book that definitely will make you laugh at least a couple of times. Very raw and but 100% truthful and she has a way of capturing your attention. I highly recommend this book
