Dreary dull and snail paced. Like listening to only the philosophical government dretch dialogue of the sequels with no relief. Like George Lucas toturing me with the parts removed for being to boring.

Sounds like Beavis and Butthead narrating a horror novel. Very distracting from what should be a scary story. Tough time finishing.

Great written narrative by Greg Cox and a really fantastic performance by Mr. Szarabajka. Better than the movie - and I loved the movie!

This book assumes you're reading because you agree 110% with all facts and suppositions made by the author. Very shrill and biased, realizing awful things happened, some objectivity would have been nice. Maybe it's because the author is reading his own work, but this feels like someone reading their teenage diary.

Mind blowing reality check for the greenies. Don't check it out if being solidly challenged bothers you.

Still wondering about the dog thing

This book is one of the worst examples of bait and switch I have run across in a long time. Most of this execrable slog is about extinction, animal rights and ecology.
Cute dog on the front should have been a dead sea lion laying on thylacine bones, but that wouldn't entrap you into getting this book. Shame on Amazon for conspiring with this "expert" to sell a book that does not even approximate answering the titular question. The dog whisperer has more insights into dogs than this lefty - literally not a thing about dogs perceptions, beyond how he tried to kindly train them to sit in the MRI and do they respond better to toys or food.
5% of book talks about dogs, and 95% is a wild ride into what the author thinks about extinction, man's inhumanity and hamster rights. Really, can I have my money back?

I really liked the narrative use of intertwining history and medical science to tell the story.
Goes off the rails a bit when attempting spiritual contemplation and meaning about the titular organ.

Lots of great ideas and a good twist, but at least 5 hours too long. There's just not enough substance here to justify treating every word like gold.

Some truly relevant and helpful points, but delivery with author's southern accent is too much. More Jethro than Jed. Maybe a voice professional instead? In the Midwest it's hard to think "here comes some great advice, and then a hootenanny."

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Drug users

What could Graham Hancock have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have a point, other than justifying hallucinagenics

What didn’t you like about Christopher Lane’s performance?

Okay - not great material to work with.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Supernatural?

Marketing it mainstream when in point of fact its counter culture.

Any additional comments?

only a drug user could think this topic deserves this much time and effort.
