Historia
The most common triggers for homicide are fear, rage, revenge, money, lust, and, more rarely, sheer madness. This isn’t an exact science, of course. Any given murder can have multiple triggers. Sex and revenge seem to be common partners in crime. This book offers my memories of homicide cases that I investigated or oversaw. In each case, I examine the trigger that led to death. I chose this theme for the book because even though the why of a murder case may not be critical in an investigation, it can sometimes lead us to the killer.

I absolutely adore this man. I can’t say enough about him. In some ways I wish he were my grandfather. Anyway, about the book 😜. Many of the stories are from the show, but that didn’t bother me and a little from the first book. He had a healthy smattering of his trademark wit and wisdom, a bit more illumination of his inner workings. No shortage of his honesty and humanity. An amazing human being. Highly recommend!!!

Historia
New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry presents a quirky collection of five stories starring a whole cast of the ever-popular undead. Here you will find a semi-sequel to Dead of Night in which four army reservists are assigned to hold a small rural bridge during the early days of the zombie apocalypse; a comedic story involving a couple of idiot moonshiners, a comet, gangsters, zombies, and the Great Chicago Fire; a downbeat psychological drama set in the bleak wastelands a few years after the zombie apocalypse; and more.

Keeps getting better. Just when I think Jonathan Maberry can’t get any better I read/listen to these short stories. Funny, insightful, culturally significant and relevant...the depth and breadth of Jonathan Maberry is astounding! Listen to The Ghost Road Blues Trilogy...hell, listen to any of his stuff...I’m gobsmacked!

Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Another great Backman book...
Revisado: 09-10-19
This was a wonderful book...not as good as A Man Called Ove, but only because the story was a bit slower, not the actual quality of the story. I also listened/read out of order (It should be Ove, My Grandmother, and then Britt-Marie, but I listened to Britt-Marie before My Grandmother). The book (all of them) are heart warming, heart breaking, and precious. Backman knows how to tug at your heart strings and write a really meaningful, memorable book. I am truly glad to own these books because I will definitely listen to them more than once. The revelations throughout the books will make you laugh and cry, and you’ll not easy or willingly forget the characters. Can’t recommend enough, just stick with it.

I absolutely love these types of books. A sneak peek into a world that I will likely never be a part of, that I deeply respect, and from the direct source. Listened to it all in one day and will likely listen to it again. Check out The Homicide Hunter, written and read by Lt. Joe Kenda, also an incredible book. Highly recommend!!

Loved the performance, loved the storyline. I really empathized with and enjoyed all of the main characters and will definitely be reading the other books. I have listened to other novels narrated by Richard Armitage and he is fabulous! I was able to figure out the identity of the killer, but it was still suspenseful. Highly recommend!

Historia
Eighteen-year-old Robert Weekes is a practitioner of empirical philosophy - an arcane, female-dominated branch of science used to summon the wind, shape clouds of smoke, heal the injured, and even fly. Though he dreams of fighting in the Great War as the first male in the elite US Sigilry Corps Rescue and Evacuation Service - a team of flying medics - Robert is resigned to mixing batches of philosophical chemicals and keeping the books for the family business in rural Montana, where his mother, a former soldier and vigilante, aids the locals.

Historia
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

Revisado: 06-08-19
Loved hearing the original Bishop and Hicks...some of the accents were a little annoying, and in places I think the actors weren’t as expressive as they should have been in the given circumstances, but the main premise was interesting and terrifying. I didn’t read the synopsis close enough and was expecting an audio version of the third movie, but that was not the case. In fact, I’m not sure where this story fitS into the Alien continuity, but it was worth the listen.

Amazing writing, amazing acting...would give 10 stars if possible. Highly recommend!!

Revisado: 05-08-19
I’m not a geneticist, so I can’t speak for the validity of the science, but I am a therapist and can that the emotions and actions of the characters ring true and clearly. Good solid book, not life altering, but interesting and informative. The narrator did a good job overall, just not so great at male voices. Recommend!

Excellent book, excellent narration...
Revisado: 05-07-19
The narrator was beyond perfect for this genre of book...gruff and expressive, wise and hardened, yet tender at times. He did an amazing job of female voices (you honestly thought a female narrator was speaking) and conveyed every emotion wonderfully. The book itself was fun take on western fantasy without going too far into the fantasy realm. A nice balance. A fast, fun, enjoyable listen with characters that you genuinely like. Highly recommended!
