I so love the series this was my 3rd book in a row

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it has great story but not formulatic.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I am still confused about what part the "Republic" people played. Seems like it was written with a sequel in mind, because it wasn't overly clear who was behind all of this.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A centuries old secret that can change the world.

Historia
A curiously dated child’s suitcase arrives, unannounced and unexplained, in a modern-day Washington suburb. A week later, American genealogist Jefferson Tayte is sitting in an English hotel room, staring at the wrong end of a loaded gun. In his latest journey into the past, Tayte lands in wartime Leicestershire, England. The genealogist had hoped simply to reunite his client with the birth mother she had never met, having no idea she had been adopted.

Really left me wanting to hear more of his books
Revisado: 05-18-16
What was one of the most memorable moments of To the Grave?
How the whole situation was caused by a BIG MAMMOTH miscommunication. The was disheartening.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I hated the mother in this book so much which said to me the characters were well written.

Great character
Revisado: 05-18-16
What did you love best about In the Blood?
The characters were real, I love that JT wasn't like a Green Beret turned Genealogist. And you could see the story developing but not so obvious.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I drive for work and listened on one trip.

Historia
The Spandau Diary -- what was in it? Why did the secret intelligence agencies of every major power want it? Why was a brave and beautiful woman kidnapped to get it? Why did a chain of deception and violent death lash out across the globe, from survivors of the Nazi past to warriors in this new conflict about to explode? Why did the world's entire history of World War II have to be rewritten as the future hung over a nightmare abyss?

What a deal! 5 story lines for the price of one
Revisado: 10-26-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If he had chosen 1 of the seemingly 5 story lines in this book. The start was great, an old WWII Nazi conspiracy. Then there was some weird bomb. Then a multinational corporation that was doing illegal things. And then a US soldier. About 3 of the 5 MIGHT have been a good book on their own, so I guess the author figured "if 3 are OK, then combined they are GREAT!" He was wrong.
Would you ever listen to anything by Greg Iles again?
Maybe abridged. Maybe.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dick Hill?
Sure.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Spandau Phoenix?
A LOT of the crazy nazi talk. I literally he fast forward on about 15 minutes at one point and the same dude was still talking about crazy Nazi crap.
Any additional comments?
He got REALLY preachy towards the end. It was like the last few years of MASH.

Someone spent too much time research FBI words
Revisado: 07-30-13
Would you try another book from Andrea Kane and/or Jim Colby?
No, the dialogue is horrible, the details are too faked and she is overly complimentary to the FBI who must have consulted. I called the story end after the abduction. I hate books where EVERYONE is the ABSOLUTE best in their field, perfect physical specimens and the totally "good' people vs. the totally "bad" people. The she threw in this obviously repressed sex scene that felt very awkward.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jim Colby’s performances?
He was fine, compared to the dialogue he had to work with.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story was semi interesting, which kept me listening, but the dialogue was so bad, it was unbelievable.
