Both books in the series were very enjoyable. Both actresses Reading Olameena were good, Though I did prefer Lyn Thigpen. when it comes to Asha however:

The founder of Earth seed often passes for a man.

Not just because of her appearance but also her voice.

Larken later tells us uncle Mark thinks she has her mother’s voice; an alto voice. Asha even says she has taken up singing in a choir and she is an alto. AL-TO. Also, at the time of narration, the character is in her 50s.

Were they mocking the novel when they chose a reader that sounds like a squeaky 12-year-old?

This blaring issue got me to thinking.

How many people does it take to Bring to fruition an audiobook? And what are each persons jobs? I am told that when making a movie, a certain person is specially assigned to check for incongruity is on set.

(such as a disposable coffee cup on Game of Thrones). Well, if I had been the lady reading Larken, I would have stopped the recording and told The sound engineer or whoever, that a major, major oversight was being committed. Also, I’m sure it wouldn’t have killed anyone to insert pauses between chapters and between the various narrators.

Whether on Audible or not,
These two novels are beautiful.

And if you do listen to this edition of parable of the talents, enjoy it as best you can.

And what a performance by Robin field. Wish I had been there while he was recording it.
In a way Stoner is a most ordinary story. It starts with the birth of a man and ends with his death. But it’s the way it is told by the author. The nuances in the way William Stoner perceives the world around him and the way others perceive him… What ingenuity to cover only certain stages and aspects of a character’s life and still make us feel like we knew him inside and out. Bravo.

I love reading about what each child brings to the lives of Kathy and her family. And what she does for them.

One of the reasons why I found this book particularly enjoyable, are the descriptions in detail that she makes of Danny interacting with his pet. Shows how much pets can help people deal with their own emotions.

The author goes into a lot of detail about the process she and the kid had to go through from beginning to end this makes the book interesting, and the more and more exciting as it comes to a conclusion.

There's a couple of characters whom I found not so relevant and in the end I was confused as to who was who. And a couple of others whom I would like to have learned more about.

The first two or so years in Megan's life are chronicled very well. You can really see her going from a newborn to a little girl. I enjoyed that.
