Jinger calls her extreme religious OCD she experienced as her own conscience, and she is probably not familiar with the term Religious Scrupulosity or OCD, but at least she recognized it and the harmful teachings of her family’s cult. This book is not a tell all on her family and is not about her losing all faith in Christianity. It is about how harmful the teachings of IBLP (former religion) are. She uses the Bible as the basis for much of her deconstruction. If you’re not a follower of Christianity (I’m not), some of this book is hard to get through with the preaching and Bible quoting, but still an interesting read.

I’ve read several leaving polygamy stories. This one is not full of horrible shocking details, but it’s a fun short read (or listen) in this case, with a satisfactory conclusion.

I read this book over a year ago and for the life of me I can't remember how it ended. Goes to Show how much of an effect it had on me. Big fan of Nicholas Sparks and buy all his books. But I felt this book was a little too slow moving for me, I wasn't particularly as fond of the characters as I am other Sparks characters. If you like Sparks- I would give it a chance. A mediocre Sparks book is better than not having any Sparks book at all.

Honest & entertaining

Tina Fey uses this book to set the record straight on times when she was misjudged and likes to get on her soapbox about women in power, but aside from her ulterior motives for writing the book I just really enjoy her humor and her view of the world and getting to know more about her.
