Historia
It is 1922, and London is tense. Ex-servicemen are disillusioned; the out-of-work and the hungry are demanding change. And in South London, in a genteel Camberwell villa, a large silent house now bereft of brothers, husband, and even servants, life is about to be transformed, as impoverished widow Mrs. Wray and her spinster daughter, Frances, are obliged to take in lodgers.

The great Scott Brick coupled with great American literature. Hard to do better than this.

A masterpiece of writing a narration. The perfect way to enjoy an American classic. And the roots of true crime podcasts.

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

Ravishing, engrossing, magnificently read.
Revisado: 10-20-23
This epic American story set in the early part of the 20th century will capture your heart. Exquisitely read by the beautiful narrator, each character is lovingly rendered to create a tapestry of American immigrants; those who were brought here against their will, and those who came desperate to be here, all coming together to create our flawed and unique American experiment.

Historia
Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

It’s an understated, but highly nuanced performance. The world of the book drew me in, and I felt very glad to spend a week in the company of these interesting characters and lovely narrators. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
