The storyline was interesting and believeable, as were the characters. I really enjoyed the book, and I am putting Saul Herzog on my Favorite Authors list.

I would have enjoyed this story much more if it were not for the pervasive anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti US service member sentiments throughout. I mean really! I can't think of another story with such universally negative portrayals of these groups. Only giving two stars to try to be fair to a decent adventure story.

In order for me to really enjoy a book, it has to make me care about the characters. This one went so much farther. I am glad noone was around as I finished it to see the tears running down my face. And I am not normally a guy who crys.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Negative - I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks and never have I felt so frustrated to be left hanging in the middle of the story. Otherwise I would have rated this story much higher. But with the ending, I am surprised others rated this one so highly.
