Historia
Two years ago, Sara's husband left for the gym one morning...and never came back. His car was found. He wasn't. Unbelievably, the police report said, "no foul play suspected." There were a few sightings over the following months, but little else. Now, on the last day before summer break, her three children have gone missing from their schools, all at the same time. And the note under her windshield wiper asks one foreboding question: Are you ready to play the game?

Such a shame
Revisado: 01-28-23
The story was great! captured my attention right away. Some of the parts were unbelievable to the point that they didn't make sense. I could handle that since this is fiction. The part I couldn't handle was the pervasive cursing. Mind you, I am not a prude, but it was a LOT! Some of it was understandable, but a lot didn't even come off as it the character would have used those words in the circumstances. That made it feel contrived, kind of like a movie that throws in the language to get a certain rating. If not for the language, I would have given 5 stars.

Historia
Jonah Baum sees his ordinary life come tumbling down when his wife and young daughter vanish from their home. No evidence of a kidnapping. No sign of murder. No proof that Rebecca didn’t simply abandon her marriage. Just Sally’s crude and chilling drawings, Jonah’s little lies, and the sheriff’s nagging fears that nothing is what it seems. For Sally’s best friend, Lucinda, it’s something else. She trusts Sally not to just disappear, not after they’ve shared so many secrets - especially about the woods and what they saw there. But she’ll never tell. No one would believe her anyway.

Really Good Story
Revisado: 01-04-23
I really liked the story. Lots of twists and turns. what I didn't like was the swearing. Some may have been necessary, but some seemed gratuitous. Good authors do not have to rely on that kind of verbiage.

A Bit Tedious
Revisado: 11-12-22
It started out great. Overall it got bogged down with minute details, that didn't really move the story forward. I do like this author, but this time the story was weighted down with minutiae.

Hard to get into
Revisado: 07-23-22
This book was a real struggle to get into. The British accent of the narrator was hard to hear. The story took way too long to really get moving. so many times, I wanted to quit. The last 2 hours were the best, but I felt the end left untied up variable. I wouldn't recommend.

I listened to the whole book. it was a boring story. I should have stopped, but we'll I didn't. There truly was not much substance to it. However, it was at least a clean read.

Captivating!
Revisado: 10-08-17
This was my first book by Jodi Picoult and I loved it. The story made me take a deep look inside myself at how I feel about capital punishment. The author got my attention from the very start and held it until the very end. I loved the multi-person narration, which was part of the intrigue. Is it a must read? No Will you be glad you read it? Yes!

Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. John Bevere shows you how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality.

Introspective
Revisado: 10-08-17
I love that this was read by the author. The book is hard hitting in that you must look deep inside yourself to see what you have allowed to alter your life. It was a great listen, albeit hard when your own faults are presented in the mirror. I highly recommend.

Definitely a disappointment!
Revisado: 09-18-17
I absolutely love Sue Grafton's Alphabet series! Y disappointed. First, lets get to the good part. Judy Kaye once again gave a brilliant performance! I love her style of narration. Now on to the actual book. The story was disjointed. It made me wonder if Sue Grafton is trying to tie up all the loose ends as the series comes to the end. The other thing struck me in this book was there was a lot more profanity than in the previous books. When an author resorts to that much profanity it shows me that they either do not have a firm grasp of the English language, or they have run out of idea. I think the latter is true in this case. I will still listen to Z when it comes out, however I hope there is a better storyline and a that she takes the profanity down about 6 notches.

Yikes!
Revisado: 09-18-17
Upfront, I want you to know that I only listened to just over an hour of the book. I tried really hard to get into it, but I didn't find anything captivating. The narration was so slow and quiet. I actually fell asleep and had to go back to listen again. The story did not captivate me at all. I kept thinking what is the author trying to communicate. I've never read a book by Kristin Hannan before and maybe it is just not my cup of tea. Honestly, I would give it lower stars except I didn't complete the book. Maybe it got better, but I will never know.

Mixed bag of tricks
Revisado: 08-25-17
The book was ok. The story was actually more for a teen reader. I finished it anyway. It was predictable. some of the characters were vibrant, while others were throw always. The narration was very good at times and irritating at others. There were times when the shrill of her voice cuts right through you. Other times were laughable, like when she did the voice of the mom. Other voices were quite pleasant. I found the overall book odd. There were times when I couldn't wait to hear more, then it would drag. In the end, there were lose ends that never quite got tied up in a neat little bow.
