Historia
Welcome to My Life shares the 14-year journey of a true warrior mom advocating for her nonverbal, severely autistic son, from diagnosis through his teenage years. This brutally honest and heartwarming account details the daily struggles and often lack of social understanding that families face when raising a child who relies on parental assistance for every need.

A good listen for special needs parents.

One thing I didn’t care for was the jumping around of the timeline. Otherwise this book is great. I love hearing stories from other families. Different perspectives from different levels of support needs. I feel we need more personal story’s from parents of autistic children. After all, if you’ve met one autistic person, you’ve met one autistic person..

When Kate Swenson’s son Cooper was diagnosed with severe, nonverbal autism, her world stopped. She had always dreamed of having the perfect family life. She hadn’t signed up for life as a mother raising a child with a disability.

Felt this entire book.

I’m a parent of a 7 year old autistic girl. Her and Cooper are worlds different, but the emotional roller coaster that is parenting an additional needs child is nearly the same. I highly recommend this book no matter where you are in your journey. You’ll feel a lot better if you read it!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was expecting it to be good, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The next book in progress cannot come out soon enough!
