Historia
When horror-obsessed Riley Lawrence and his group of college friends arrive in the small town of Carousel for their Centennial Celebration, the few decrepit cars parked in the street don’t scare them. But when they enter a locked building, an animatronic usher hands them each a ticket, and the lights dim, Riley realizes they’ve entered the inescapable patchwork of a horror movie set. And they’ve each been assigned an archetype—Scholar, Athlete, Eye Candy, Final Girl—to play out as the curtains rise.

Historia
Nature is dying. Perhaps before the world is turned into an industrious machine, nature itself can play one final trump card to save itself. Summoned to a new world, a mushroom-loving mycologist needs to grow up and grow stronger in order to accomplish the goal that brought them to this new place: to save nature from the system that the sentient races have created. Stats, levels, classes, and skills are all well and good, but when you're a Child of Poverty in the slums of City Nineteen, there's little you can do to change the world. Not unless you're willing to think outside the box!

A slow build to what should be a good story
Revisado: 04-19-24
This was q good listen, interesting world, interesting system and skills, but it's just a really slow world build in this first book. I would have loved a bit more action or use of her skills, maybe a trip into a dungeon, but I presume that starts in the next book.

Historia
In the distant past, a time of magic and swordplay, there lived Harold, the mightiest lich of all, a master of arcane sciences, and a challenger of gods. After reaching the pinnacle of his power and finding it surprisingly bland, Harold waged a cataclysmic war against the gods, aiming to shatter the very system that confined him.

a great book for pun lovers and we'll fans of well written characters.
Revisado: 03-11-24
I loved Harold as a character, his use of puns, and most especially i loved the limpet and her and Harold's relationship. I look forward to seeing more of the two of them.

Working as a quality-assurance grunt in the gaming industry sounds like fun, right? You get to play the coolest new games before anyone else. And all you have to do is to find, reproduce, and report bugs before the last pixel is locked in and the games are launched to an eager public. Sure, there’s the unpaid overtime, the office politics, and the ever-present threat of layoffs. But you get to game!

a fun quick listen and very QA accurate
Revisado: 01-13-24
As a former QA tester I can say they were very accurate with how bugging works, the arguments over what's a bug, and the at times frustrating developer replies. I loved it for all that. I will say the actual story stakes don't show up till about the last 30-40 mins, which is odd, but still a great listen. I'd love a sequel

Slinging hotdogs may not be the most glorious side gig, but hey, if it paid for college, that’s all Emma could ask for. And let’s be real, of all the crowds in the world, what were the odds that Comic-Con would get Portalled next? Emma really should’ve known better. Once again, the universe conspires against her, and now she’s stuck in a world where the laws of physics don’t seem to apply and even the grass is trying to kill her. She better pay close heed to the artificial intelligence guiding her and make some new friends fast, because out here, it’s thrive or die.

A new seminal work for LitRPG
Revisado: 05-20-22
To begin with, I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this story. It has a unique take on LitRPG elements, fantastic and funny characters, and one of the best female leads in LitRPG.
It follows the female lead as she, and the few others that survived the event that transported them all to this alien world, is forced through trials in order to grow and develop and to have a chance of finding a way back to her world.
The reason I love it the most though is the really down-to-earth natural dialog paired with a really great, slowly burning romance development sub-plot that you don't normally get to see in other LitRPG works.
To give any more details would be to spoil all the greats dialog and plot points the book has, so I just say if you are looking for a great read, or looking for the next great LitRPG that people will be looking to as a guide for writing a more human character, this is the book for you. You will not go wrong with spending the token or the money to listen.

A fantastic start to a new seminal LITRPG series
Revisado: 05-01-22
This was a fantastic listen from start to finish, a title sure to be enjoyed by any LITRPG fan and sure to be looked upon as a seminal influence to future LITRPG writers.
The main character comes off as tough and willing to do what it takes to survive while still displaying the sort of ego flaws that make her relatable to the listener. I do not wish to spoil any of the great moments from this first book but I will take a brief moment to praise the organic and interesting relationship developing between the main character and the romantic interest, it's not often you see one done so naturally and so well in this genre.
If you're at all on the fence, or looking for a new listen, you really get a lot of worth for you investment in this book and it has left me, as I am sure it will leave you, eagerly awaiting the next book in the seires

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Legend Of Zelda meets Dragon Quest in the best way
Revisado: 05-26-20
I supremely enjoyed this book, to the point where I am writing my first ever review.
This book tells the tale of Legend of Zelda meets Dragon Questesque world with a main character who is above all else clever and approaches all the standard tropes of such a world in unique and creative ways. To say anything of true substance would give away the true joys of this delightful story but if you want to know how someone who grew up in a world beset by a great evil handles it, instead of just waiting for the fabled hero to be born, how they would approach and solve typical dungeon problems and adventure tropes, I urge you to give this book a listen. It is worth it.
