A Must Read for Small Online Business Owners!!
Revisado: 08-22-24
This book teaches small online business owners how to take their business to the next level using the LEADS system, creating small online events designed to explode visibility, add value to your audience, grow your email list and importantly convert sales. The author takes you step by step through her system giving client examples along with lots of interactive “check yourself” sections to key in to your business directly. This book is for someone who is ready to do the work, but for someone who wants to work smarter and get off the social media hamster wheel. With her background in psychology, she really has you dig into yourself and your business by dialing down your audience and finding key partnerships to scale up. This was a quick listen (recommend the paperback and workbook as well for visuals), and a MUST READ for anyone trying to grow a 6 figure business online!

Why Can't We Just Play?

Historia
Facing summer with her two boys, ages 10 and seven, Pam Lobley was sifting through signups for swim team, rec camp, night camp, scout camp, and enrichment classes. Overwhelmed at the choices, she asked her sons what they wanted to do during summer: "Soccer? Zoo School? Little Prodigy's Art Club?" "Why can't we just play?" they asked. A summer with no scheduled activities at all. The thought was tempting, but was it possible? It would be like something out of the 1950s.

Relatable
Revisado: 02-11-23
This book felt very relatable. I loved her experiment going back to the 1950’s lifestyle and the lessons she learned along the way. I definitely feel grateful that we chose to slow down and homeschool once the pandemic hit, but this book is relatable also to those who don’t (as the author did not). I think there is definitely a balance to be had between the rat race of today and the 50s for today’s modern family - and that’s what I personally strive for. Some activities, yes. But also, not cramming it all in and taking things slow and just letting the kids play and be creative without having to be constantly involved can go a long way. Loved the narrator and the storytelling was funny and relatable.

Another hit from Lisa Gardner
Revisado: 01-14-23
Lisa Gardner never fails to nail a good crime/detective mystery. Loved this one about a woman with her own difficult past searching for a missing teenage Haitian girl in Boston. It kept me on my toes, I enjoyed the characters, and I was intrigued every step of the way.

A little repetitive but definitely inspiring!
Revisado: 01-05-23
This was my first-ever audio book!! I enjoyed it and it gave me the perfect excuse this week to get OUTSIDE and take walks. I absolutely loved the idea of walking while “reading” this book and I feel like it fit the theme of microadventures.
The problems I had with the book were that his idea of “micro” seemed a bit daunting for me!! Some of the adventures seemed quite macro in my mind, but I realize the author is very experienced. I also felt the book became a bit repetitive - I felt like every other adventure was about sleeping outside without a tent, which I’m not particularly excited about isn’t my idea of adventure lol.
There were tons of ideas and options in the book which I appreciated, but every time it came back to sleeping outside in a Bivvy bag, and it got a little boring for me.
That said, this book definitely has inspired me to incorporate more of my own type of mini adventures in my life. I like the idea that an adventure can just take a day and the idea of immersing yourself in nature. I already have ideas of little things we can do as a family and looking for mini bike races to sign my kids up for.
It was inspiring, informative, and educational.
If you like walking, running, biking, mountain climbing, camping, and sleeping outside tentless and want to find more ways to do that without having to plan a super extravagant vacation or you are short on time, or just need a little push to get outdoors more often, then this is the book for you!
