I have not read or listened to the other books in this series, and went into this one without knowing anything about it. I was very surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Midnight Strikes is a great stand alone story about a hero fixing a problem. The development of the characters was done in a clever way that I really appreciated. With many stories in the Super Hero Universe you are constantly bombarded with stiff dialog to explain what characters think, feel or believe. This is not the case with Midnight Strikes.

Tom Reynolds (Author) has a very unique style that I enjoyed. The world that he created feels full and the characters seem real. I like the main character and am very interested in what is happening in their world. In a world where people have super powers it was very interesting to listen to the struggles of someone that does not.

Mike Carnes (Narrator) did a very good job. There was a wide variety of characters in this story and Mike did a good job varying his voice to distinguish who was talking.

I will be getting the other books in the series.

Overall this is a very good story. Boyd Craven does a great job developing the main character and by the end of the story you really feel like you know him. This book does a wonderful job of taking someone from a regular person to an advanced prepper. There is a tremendous amount of detail about prepping and decision making.

The only shortcoming of the book was the lack of action. There is some but you go for long periods with just prepping. The end of the book comes together well and I would definitely read another story by the author.

About the narrator - Kevin Pierce once again does a fantastic job. He is quickly becoming my favorite voice on audible.

Redfall - Freedom Fighters is the second installment, and I think it was better than the first.

The story takes place in a future where the world has transformed into a more dangerous place. Book 2 starts where the first story left off and does a great job of going much deeper into this new world.

Again - Jay Falconer did a fantastic job making this future landscape seem very real. The story was not predictable at all - I thought I knew what was going to happen but was surprised where it went.

I am glad Gary Tiedmann (Narrator) was back, and he did a great job.
This was a really interesting story and I highly recommend.

What made the experience of listening to Achieve: Find out Who You Are, What You Really Want, and How to Make It Happen the most enjoyable?

The author gives some new ideas and perspectives. There are several personality factors that really determine how you should attack certain situations. Chris does a good job of making sure you are lined up to think about a situation correctly.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Achieve: Find out Who You Are, What You Really Want, and How to Make It Happen?

By far the section on Goals. The author does and excellent job of walking you through how to set AND achieve your goals.

Which scene was your favorite?

The section about figuring out what you really want was impactful.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Achieve: Find out Who You Are, What You Really Want, and How to Make It Happen?

This book really made me re-evaluate how I approach my goals.

Any additional comments?

I went our and bought a paper copy so I could take some notes. I liked listening to this on audio, because the narrator does a really good job.

The only problem is there are several points when I wanted a paper copy to highlight and go back to. Overall this is a great book and I highly recommend it.

I have listened to Franklin's other stories and enjoyed them. After reading the synopsis on audible.com I was a little skeptical about this one. Now I am really glad I gave this one a listen.

The author does a fantastic job developing all of the characters in the story. Even the minor characters feel very real. To me the best part about his writing is that the characters make realistic decisions. With some stories you will have main characters that make stupid decisions just to move he story along. Franklin avoids this completely by having realistic characters making smart decisions.

I really enjoyed the ideas that Franklin has come up with for Locker 9. After finishing up this story I have some great new bug out ideas. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but if you are a prepper or interested in bugging out you really need to give this a listen.

Kevin Pierce is the narrator and as always does a fantastic job. He always manages to do great voices and has a wonderful voice. When searching for new stories I have picked books based on him as a narrator. Great job!

Overall it is a great story that I will listen to again.

Blackout is book one in a new series by Emerson Hawk. The EMP happens in the first few minutes and you get to see how a group of survivors handles the situation.
There are a couple of things I really liked about this story. The main character is not an extreme prepper or overly prepared. You get to see the events from someone that is on the road during an attack and has to make the best of a difficult situation. This is not a guy who has an arsenal and three weeks of food in his pack. I have listened to stories lie that (and liked them), but this was a refreshing change of perspective.

There is another aspect I really enjoyed but can't discuss due to spoilers. I will sum it up like this - no one knows what effects an EMP will have on our environment, and I was very interested in the take Emerson went with.

As always Kevin Pierce (Narrator) did an excellent job. He does wonderful character voices and makes it easy to distinguish between characters and situations.

Redfall is the first installment of what should be a great new series. I am a big fan of the apocalypse/society breakdown/zombie stories, and this fits right into that genre. The story takes place in a future where the world has transformed into a more dangerous place. Government corruption and additional controls are working to clamp down freedom in this new world.
Jay Falconer did a wonderful job painting the picture in this future landscape. He gives a great twist to future society without going off the deep end and making it completely evil and dark. The plot of book one revolves around some new technology that is unleashed, and Jay does good job explaining it in a believable way.
The characters are well developed and behave in a very believable manner.

Gary Tiedmann (Narrator) does a very solid job. I enjoyed the way he changed his pitch and tone between characters so that you easily understand who is speaking.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and am excited to listen to book 2.

Peter does a wonderful job keeping this thing going. The only thing I didn't like was changing the narration. Jay does a great job making the characters feel real, but I missed having Khristine Hvam, Mark Boyett, Elisabeth Rodgers.

Captain Freedom and stealth just aren't the same with Jay's voice. Overall I loved the story-keep them coming.

As the title said I really...really wanted to like this story, but I did not. The premise is a modern day civil war in the US and sounds like a really interesting listen. So far so good.

My problems with this story begin right away. RA Peters (Author) seems to have a personal grudge against the following:

Soldiers, Police, Politicians, Business Owners, Working People, College Students, Religious Leaders, Militia Members, Any Gun Owner, The Media, Anyone dumb enough to watch the news...and the list goes on.

After about 8 hours in I began to wonder who this book was written for as he seemed to hate everyone. Every time a new character is introduced he seemed to go to great lengths to explain why they were stupid, evil, greedy or otherwise worthless.

It turns out that a majority of the reason the civil war begins and continues is because people keep making stupid decision. Not a typical character making the wrong decision, but just stupid decisions - over and over again. At a meeting in the White House the author points out that while making plans to invade Florida the General has an erection. While a TV producer is watching a battle on TV he has an orgasm in his pants. Every politician is fat, likes to put his feet on his desk and smoke cigars. Seriously? Everyone in the book is a caricature of the worst possible traits. I cannot remember a book like this where I hated every character.

Kevin Clay (Narrator) did a good job with this one. I like his voice and will listen to him again, but he couldn't save this one.

This was a good story about surviving a breakdown in society. I really like the idea of having to get his daughter from college. It added a new twist onto the typical post-apocalyptic story line. The main character is not your typical hero for this type of story, and that was a refreshing change. The author decided to make this more of a run and hide type character instead of a shoot first character. It seemed to make the story more realistic.

Mitchell did a good job narrating the story and manages to make the various characters voices very different. He makes it seem like he is a guy telling you a story instead of someone reading a book to you. That might not make much sense, but that is how it seemed to me and I appreciated it.

One thing that made me a little crazy was the story of his daughter at college. As soon as the initial disaster happens a few of the students seem to go completely over the edge crazy. I understand you need some bad guys for a story like this, but the kids at the college seem to go over the edge pretty fast. Not a big deal just a little unrealistic.

Overall I really enjoyed the story and look forward to more by Jordon Quattlebaum.
