Historia
For the audio book version, Dr. Warren Farrell personally rewrote the highlights of The Myth of Male Power as a dialogue. The questions are similar to what others will ask you when you discuss these issues. You’ll have Dr. Farrell’s best answers. The Myth of Male Power helps each family member understand that genuine power is neither status nor money, but “control over one's life.” He documents that virtually every society that has survived has done so by persuading its sons to be disposable--whether in war or in work; and therefore indirectly as dads. And disposability is not power. Considered the Bible of men's studies—yet highly empathetic to women (Dr. Farrell was repeatedly elected to the Board of the National Organization for Women in NYC)-- the meticulously researched The Myth of Male Power takes the listener on a captivating journey around the world, throughout history, biology, the Bible, the law, and everyday life, challenging every currently-held assumption about men, women and the family.

Lots of opinion, some facts
Revisado: 01-04-24
In reference to the title of this review, he refers to middle school football as "boy abuse," failing to see any value in the fact that the sport is extremely valuable in a number of ways; just a few of those being an outlet to express themselves, develop comraderie, and to grace the surface in an exploration of physical potential. Instead, he focuses entirely on the minute negative risks, such as concussion and spinal injury. For a simple comparison, between 10% and 15% of ALL football players at ALL levels may experience some sort of spinal injury; whereas, 77% [as of 2020 data] of ALL drivers have been in a car accident at some point.
Even with that staggeringly high percentage, we don't stop driving because the benefits outweigh the risk. Same thing with football.
It is an interesting listen, but the doctor's history as a feminist is apparent in this one. To his credit, he does acknowledge his bias against men in the use of his previous language, but (in my opinion) he fails to apply the lesson he learned in this one.

Historia
Discover magazine recently called Richard Dawkins "Darwin's Rottweiler" for his fierce and effective defense of evolution. Prospect magazine voted him among the top three public intellectuals in the world (along with Umberto Eco and Noam Chomsky). Now Dawkins turns his considerable intellect on religion, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes.

I was hoping for a critical look into religion, what I got was liberal dogma.

The author understands the struggles of teachers who are doing what they can to instill order and maintain control with their students, especially when they are in a state of total disorganization, with some obvious increasing level of chaos. This book introduces a few effective steps to understand how to tackle such situations and succeed in classroom management.

just awful.
narrators cadence is horrific, many of the words don't even form coherent sentences.
sounds almost as if a poorly written software program is reading a poorly written book.
