Historia
Katherine, an ambitious New York City attorney, gets diagnosed with a concussion and must be monitored for forty-eight hours to make sure it doesn’t get worse. Unfortunately, she forgot to update her emergency contact, so the person they call is her ex-husband, Tom. Unable to be left alone, Katherine reluctantly agrees to travel to Chicago with him for the holidays. But thanks to a blizzard, what should have been a quick plane ride turns into an antagonistic overnight misadventure that stirs up old feelings even as Tom prepares to propose to his girlfriend on Christmas Eve.

Historia
It’s 1927, and the most devastating flood in American history has swelled the Mississippi River to a width of eighty miles. In an attempt to save a family trapped by the rising water, four men in a tiny rowboat battle the treacherous flow: three are convicts, on loan from the local prison and pressed into service; the fourth, the leader of the team, is driven by his own hidden motives. But to their surprise upon arrival at Ballymore, an ancestral home protected by a high, circular levee, not everyone in the family feels the need to be saved.

Historia
Let’s face it...puppies can be stubborn. Even the sweetest owners can get stressed and frustrated with poor training results. The problem is most people use old and ineffective house training methods and end up frustrated and angry at their pup. Failed or long drawn out house training can be avoided by learning the correct way to house train your dog. No one wants to spend months housebreaking their pup when he's pottying all over the house. Especially when you realize other people are getting it done easily and painlessly in as little as seven days.

Historia
Kate Potter used to love Christmas. A few years ago, she would have been wrapping her presents in September and baking mince pies on Halloween, counting down the days and hours to Christmas. But that was before Kate’s husband left for the army and never came home. Now she can hardly stand December at all. Kate can’t deny she’s lonely, yet she doesn’t think she’s ready for romance. She knows that her son, Jack, needs a Christmas to remember - just like Kate needs a miracle to help her finally move forward with her life. So she’s decided she’ll have to make her own miracle.

Historia
On a snowy evening in March, 30-something Noelle Butterby is on her way back from an event at her old college when disaster strikes. With a blizzard closing off roads, she finds herself stranded, alone in her car, without food, drink, or a working charger for her phone. All seems lost until Sam Attwood, a handsome American stranger also trapped in a nearby car, knocks on her window and offers assistance. What follows is eight perfect hours together, until morning arrives and the roads finally clear.

WOW-One of the best books I have ever read!
Revisado: 01-07-23
Amazing narrator. Incredibly moving & thought-provoking story, beautifully written. Heart wrenching yet ultimately uplifting. So many takeaways to consider- but the best is probably “Act now & Panic later”. My own life is a version of this story, and so it was particularly meaningful for me. Cannot recommend this author and this book and this narrator enough. A 10 out of 5 stars!

Historia
Jerene Jarvis Johnston and her husband, Duke, are exemplars of Charlotte, North Carolina’s high society, a world where old Southern money and the secrets behind it meet the new wealth of bankers, real estate speculators, and carpetbagging social climbers. Steely and implacable, Jerene presides over her family’s legacy of paintings at the Mint Museum; Duke, the one-time college golden boy and descendant of a Confederate general, whose promising political career was mysteriously short-circuited, has settled into a comfortable semi-senescence as a Civil War reenactor.

Incredible!
Revisado: 03-06-21
One of the best books ever. If you are from the South and from a certain type of Southern family, you will love and totally “get” this book. At times it is hard to tell if the author is just telling the story or being supremely satirical, but many a truth is told in jest- and it all rings true to this Carolinian reader! Some of the best dialogue I have ever read. Each character is wickedly delicious. This story and its characters will last in your memory in the same way that the monogrammed sterling silver flatware lasts through the generations of a good Southern family. The chapter in which Jerene takes on the surgeon father of the rapacious frat boy from UNC is a perfect example of how every mother should conduct themselves when their precious daughter has been taken advantage of. And If you have ever been a reluctant debutante, as I have, then you are in for a treat when you read about the liberal and recalcitrant Annie- Winston Barrnhart got all of it completely pitch perfect. The South indeed is another country and culture all together.

One small handwritten letter, sent from a dark, remote corner of the planet and lost in the system for 60 years, is about to change the entire human race. Outside Denver, Colorado, Joe Rickards stands over a small aircraft wreckage, studying burnt remains still smoldering in a field of freshly fallen snow. He's an investigator for the NTSB, working to carefully roll back the last several hours and identify the cause of the accident. But this time, he can't.

Needs a sequel please!
Revisado: 10-31-20
Would love to see a sequel- soon-before I forget the details of this thought provoking tale. The audible reader was way too over- dramatic in his reading style. There were some places where it was called for, but not every line and every word. One of the better self published books I have read though in terms of plot and writing style. This might make a fun movie too. Bring in Book 2!!

Historia
Eliza Budley is a beautiful widow whose husband gambled away his fortune. Lady Fortescue reminds the others that, to be fair, Mrs. Budley has no relatives on whom she can call. Gentle Mrs. Budley thinks she has escaped her fate until Sir Philip comes up with a plan: He has heard that the elderly Marquess of Peterhouse is senile, a widower, extremely rich, and unlikely to remember whether Mrs. Budley is a relative or not. So off Mrs. Budley goes. But the marquess turns out to be not so old, hardly senile, and, in fact, quite handsome.
