A rare gem! Fresh clean and intriging!
Revisado: 12-22-23
this author is truly gifted. the storyline is fresh and compelling. The authors knowledge of industry details was amazing and the plot was full of unexpected mayhem and murder woven deftly around an unlikely but compelling romance. I read hundreds of books each year and and this will go on my short list of favorites right along with Book 1.

A roller coaster of delight.

Lily Chu writes a wonderful mix of reality wrapped up in spunk and humor. I did so enjoy this romantic struggle between the weary "rich and famous" idol and the sparkling witty Miss Ari.

Unusual suspense thriller
Revisado: 01-13-22
Because I have 3 brilliant autistic adult grandchildren, I found this thriller a fascinating look into the
thought process of the fictional heroine. The story is well crafted, well paced and is full of twists and turns.
Often I can figure out the mystery way ahead of time, but this story kept me guessing to the very end.
I was also impressed with the ensemble voices. The vignettes of additional voices were a fun change of pace to the heroine's narrative. All in all a job well done. An excellent listen.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Historia
The eighth book in the series finds John Pickett bound for England's scenic Lake District, where an unsigned letter has summoned him for an unspecified reason. Pickett and his wife Julia, the former Lady Fieldhurst, take a room at the Hart and Hound as the letter instructs him. Once installed there, however, Pickett can do nothing but wait for the anonymous contact to identify himself. A midnight search of the inn's register seems to identify the innkeeper, Ned Hawkins, as his man, but before Pickett can discover the reason for his summons, Hawkins is pushed from a cliff - surviving the fall only long enough to call Pickett's attention to the letter in his pocket.

Historia
Raina Bretton is a rag woman in London's East End when a handsome stranger appears in a dank alley and offers her a glittering smile and a chance for adventure. Rothburne Abbey has a unique position for her, one that will take her away from her hardscrabble life and give her a chance to be a lady. Things she could only dream of might be coming true. But some dreams turn out to be nightmares. Though Raina has traded squalor for silk and satin, something about the abbey is deeply unsettling.
