Historia
We have all pondered seemingly unanswerably but significant questions about our existence - the biggest of all being, "Why are we here?" Philosophy has developed over millennia to help us grapple with these essential intangibles. There is no better way to study the big questions in philosophy than to compare how the world's greatest minds have analyzed these questions, defined the terms, and then reasoned out potential solutions. Once you've compared the arguments, the final step is always deciding for yourself whether you find an explanation convincing.

A bit of a difficult listen but a good book
Revisado: 06-03-17
The early chapters about logic did not do much for me but the rest was good. I had to make frequent use of the replay button and it was difficult to follow but well worth a second listen.

Historia
It's often said that when tragedy strikes, the victims were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. But not Harry and Alice French. Assaulted by masked men looking for a mysterious package and a man named Renshaw, Alice and Harry manage to convince them that there has been a terrible mix-up. But nothing prepares Alice and Harry for the web they find themselves trapped in after their assailants leave. Especially as Alice hasn't been completely honest.

What a dreadful book. One of the worst so called 'thrillers' I've ever laboured through.

Good story

Long but does not seem like it. Parallel storylines make it fun. Well narrated and characters are easy to identify

Historia
Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat tells the stories of individuals afflicted with fantastic perceptual and intellectual aberrations: patients who have lost their memories and with them the greater part of their pasts; who are no longer able to recognize people and common objects; who are stricken with violent tics and grimaces or who shout involuntary obscenities; whose limbs have become alien; who have been dismissed as retarded yet are gifted with uncanny artistic or mathematical talents.

I rarely stop reading a book halfway through...

Written with sensitivity
Revisado: 04-10-17
Not sure if meaningful or, and this is not my criticism, a kind of freak show. Clearly written with sensitivity for the cases but the book would have been much better with a conclusion. As a listen it is entertaining
