Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Excellent performance of excellent writing!

A very captivating book - written with refreshing authenticity and fearlessness. I was also pleasantly surprised at the nuanced reading of the author’s memoir in which she altered her voice and cadence to match the age and mood of each chapter.

Love her voice and words ...
Revisado: 11-20-19
Can not bear the music in Chapter 2. I want so much to listen to what it has to say but the music slices right through me. It’s different from the music in Chapter 1, which is fine and relaxing. Its got this sharp sound that is the exact opposite of the narrators voice, which is lovely and soothing. I try to lower the volume to make it bearable but then I cant hear her. A shame.
