Historia
When Kate Pierce-Keller’s grandmother gives her a strange blue medallion and speaks of time travel, sixteen-year-old Kate assumes the old woman is delusional. But it all becomes horrifyingly real when a murder in the past destroys the foundation of Kate’s present-day life. Suddenly, that medallion is the only thing protecting Kate from blinking out of existence. Kate learns that the 1893 killing is part of something much more sinister, and her genetic ability to time travel makes Kate the only one who can fix the future.

The collapse of The Flow, the interstellar pathway between the planets of the Interdependency, has accelerated. Entire star systems - and billions of people - are becoming cut off from the rest of human civilization. This collapse was foretold through scientific prediction...and yet, even as the evidence is obvious and insurmountable, many still try to rationalize, delay and profit from, these final days of one of the greatest empires humanity has ever known.

Historia
A devastating attack by the lich Quatach-Ichl has left Zorian and Zach reeling as their remaining restarts tick away. As they recover, they make preparations for their final confrontations with Red Robe, the lich, the primordial being, and the invaders—all within the shadow of a question they can’t answer: can Zorian and Zach both survive outside the time loop? When the time loop is broken, sacrifices will be made, bonds will be tested, and trust will be more important than any magical skill or power—and even then, success is not guaranteed.

His only series! :(
Revisado: 10-30-23
This series was amazing! The character development was incredible and the way he artfully wove back in earlier characters and encounters was absolute literary bliss. Nothing felt forced or solely had a single purpose. The narrator was great with recognizable voices for each character. I loved the entire series from start to terrific endings!

Trying too hard to be epic
Revisado: 10-24-22
The reader is lovely and dramatic, but the source material is weak. The story maxes out the superlatives and tries wayyyyy to hard to be epic. The result is that you roll your eyes at the book over and over. Oh, the main character must survive this monster so I can eat his soul? Here, let me give him the exact tools he’ll need to defeat me later. Oh the Barrow King is level 67 and he’s millennia old, but the main character manages level 11 by the end of the week. Just not believable even for fantasy!

Historia
Meet Jim Carrey. Sure, he's an insanely successful and beloved movie star drowning in wealth and privilege — but he's also lonely. Maybe past his prime. Maybe even...getting fat? He's tried diets, gurus, and cuddling with his military-grade Israeli guard dogs, but nothing seems to lift the cloud of emptiness and ennui. Even the sage advice of his best friend, actor, and dinosaur skull collector Nicolas Cage isn't enough to pull Carrey out of his slump.

Excellent Sequel
Revisado: 07-06-21
It’s hard to be a sequel, but this book delivers. I love will Wheaton voice and I love Ernest Klein attention to all nerdy details. The trivia in the detail even about the concept but I’m not as familiar with we’re still fun to listen to. Well not as innovative is the first one the second one is still just as much fun to listen to. PS I’m driving so I apologize if there are typos and weird grammar.

Historia
Evan Michaels struggles with being different, with having the complete memories of two other people who lived sequentially before him. He fights loneliness and believes he is unique until he meets Poppy. She recognizes his struggle because she is like him, except that she is much older, remembering seven consecutive lives. But there is something else she must share with Evan - she is a member of the secretive Cognomina. They are, in effect, immortals - compiling experiences and skills over lifetimes into near superhuman abilities that they have used to drive history over centuries.

Good story telling. Horrible People.
Revisado: 06-24-21
Sex, drugs and selfish people indulging themselves in every way with no empathy or care for the world or others in it. That’s the total summary of this book.
I’m not religious so I wasn’t offended by the author’s takes on religion, but his assertion that without religion there is no reason to be a good person is faulty. I am a good member of society, not because I seek eternal reward, but because I seek the immediate and long term rewards of self fulfillment and knowing that I better the world around me.
The historical fiction short stories are interesting but all of the members of the Cognomina are horrible people. It’s hard to give a high score to a story in which you dislike all the main characters.
Overall wish I could have these hours of my life back.

Historia
The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.

Fabulous - love the scholar path
Revisado: 07-22-19
I wasn't going to write a review, just give it five stars and then I glanced over the negative reviews. They make no sense! One person dismissed this as good for teens only. This 38 year old high school physics teacher/optometrist/gamer loved it!
I really liked the intro to Joe and the way he enters the game (the other prologue was a bit opaque and wasn't at all needed, I'll grant you that). Joe is a very likable and believable character. Not everyone wants to be a mindless barbarian! Some of us revel in our nerdiness and I LOVE that his skills in life actually translate into his skill in the game.
I found the pacing to be very good and I liked that the story wasn't linear. This world is open ended and so the story has multiple threads going at once which gave it a sense of realism and longevity. Awesome litRPG. I found Joe to be a more sympathetic and believable character than those in the Divine Dungeon series (which I also liked, but they were much more linear and less interesting especially the irritating wisp).

Historia
What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

Delightful twist on D&D
Revisado: 03-01-19
While not a Dungeons and Dragons player myself, I love RPGs and this story captured the fun and the mannerisms on the RPG-er. All of Drew Hayes’s novels are exceptional writing with terrific details and plot twists.
I’m actually writing this review after re-listening to the book in preparation for the fourth installment having just been published. This awesome read is the weakest of the series by far! They get progressively more interesting and exciting as the plot twists pile on. I also recommend his wonderful Vampire Accountant (Fred) series and I can’t heap enough praise on Superpowereds which may be my all time favorite series ever. Drew is fantastic at dreaming up a logical progression of his characters so you don’t wonder where the crap that ability or action came from. Even as he shocks you with a plot twist, the action makes perfect sense for the character making it.
Love your work, Drew!!

Titan was one of the nation's most loved and respected Heroes, until an infidelity scandal tore his image and family apart. After decades spent out of the limelight, Owen Daniels has decided to take up the mantle of Titan once again to try and make amends for his years away. Unfortunately, the Titan Scandal is still common knowledge, and no Hero team wants such a polarizing figure.

More Please!
Revisado: 06-18-18
I love the Superpowered books! I do get sick of only finding out about the training of heroes and mages though and here is the perfect counterpoint. I adore the character Owen Daniels and thought his redemption quest was really awesome. Great writing of real, believable characters with a completely original plot not a rehash of tried and true formula.
The reader is fantastic and I have the release date for the forth Superpowereds book in my calendar. Again, MORE PLEASE!
