Great story
Revisado: 02-16-24
The author's imaginative use of details not in the original text. He brought to life the characters in the Bible story.

Historia
If you had the power to change things in the past for the betterment of yourself, your family, or the world, what would you do? Brian Partridge is a fan of all things science fiction, especially when a book or film is about time travel. One day after buying all of his favorite author's personal effects in an estate sale following the man’s death, he finds out just how this man of words managed to write about the past with such passion and detail. The truth was he had visited all those places using his very own time machine.

Stupid man-bashing second rate novel
Revisado: 09-04-23
Typical 4th wave feminist claptrap. The story is lame, a theme that's been done better many times before, with a ridiculous amount of man-bashing thrown in to make it seem new.
I only finished it because I wasted a credit on it and wanted to see if it got any better, news flash... it didn't.
It was boring, and so was the narrator who sounded just as bored. I won't be buying any more from this author, and will avoid anything the narrator does as well.

It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Not many little girls dream of becoming a maid, but this is an opportunity for me to get back on my feet. And for me to revisit my past....

Better than I originally thought. I like the creepy twist near the end, the housekeeper being a co-conspirator

Decent twist on time travel
Revisado: 08-15-22
Pretty good story, I liked the concept of freezing time. The narrator was decent too, though he tends to mispronounce several of the words, even the central character's name alternately saying his name one way, then another. One word was gyros, the food which is pronounced yeeros. Otherwise, pretty good.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Enjoying it a lot.
Revisado: 01-12-22
Great narration, good use of various accents.
I was amused when the Scottish brogh would slip into the English accent.
The app itself though kept starting the book over and I would lose my place.

Historia
Doreen Williamson is a quiet, shy librarian on Earth. As many other young women she is distrustful of her attractions, frightened of men, introverted in manner and sexually inhibited. She lives in a quiet, lonely, dissatisfying, sheltered, frustrated desperation, distant from her true self, her nature denied, her only friends books and her secret thoughts. In the realization and enactment of a profound fantasy, after acute self-conflict, she dares to study dancing, a form of dance in which she is at last free to move her body as a female, a form of dance in which she may revel in her beauty and womanhood....

Irritating narration
Revisado: 10-08-21
I read this book and all the others years ago and was looking forward to the audio version. I was disappointed by the narrator who mispronounced several words. I could understand if it was the Gorean ones as that is a matter of interpretation, but ordinary English words were regularly mispronounced. One example was quadruped, pronounced quadrooped. Another was Chaldea, pronounced with a hard CH sound.
There were others as well.
Another is the irritating imperious fake English/Russian type of accent used when reading the Gorean parts. The story does not support it. All in all, I enjoyed the story again but wish someone else would be chosen for the narration.

Historia
This is the story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world - and did. Is he a destroyer or a liberator? Why does he fight his hardest battle not against his enemies, but against the woman he loves? Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is Ayn Rand's magnum opus and launched an ideology and a movement. With the publication of this work in 1957, Rand gained an instant following and became a phenomenon.

Excellent!
Revisado: 09-07-21
Very good for someone recently awakened to the perils of socialism that so many are clamoring for today. I was amazed at how prescient her observations and predictions were for a book now more than 60 years old. If only the colleges would make this required reading instead of the communist hogwash that the so-called professors are pushing today, we would have a different (and better) society.
