Historia
Seventeen-year-old “Hank” has found himself at Penn Station in New York City with no memory of anything - who he is, where he came from, why he’s running away. His only possession is a worn copy of Walden, by Henry David Thoreau.
And so he becomes Henry David - or “Hank” and takes first to the streets, and then to the only destination he can think of - Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts. Cal Armistead’s remarkable debut novel is about a teen in search of himself.

Middle school assigned reading enjoyable for adults too
Revisado: 10-05-23
My 8th grader was assigned this book to read for English. I ordered the Audiobook for him to listen at home and decided to listen to it myself. Really enjoyed the book. Loved the characters. And the story was so good addressing themes of identity, guilt and forgiveness, compassion and forging your own path. Recommend it for adults as well as adolescents.

Historia
Being the middle child has its ups and downs. But for Grace, an only child who was adopted at birth, discovering that she is a middle child is a different ride altogether. After putting her own baby up for adoption, she goes looking for her biological family, including: Maya, her loudmouthed younger bio sister, who has a lot to say about their newfound family ties. And Joaquin, their stoic older bio brother, who has no interest in bonding over their shared biological mother.

Amazing story
Revisado: 10-24-18
Amazing story about how the decisions we make in life affect us and others and of the importance of family. Loved this book. Characters were well developed and the story line was engaging and thought provoking. Would recommend for any one high school age or older.

Yet sometimes the middle-class small-town girl in Nina wonders if she's strayed from the person she once was. His road has been lonely, long, and hard, but he finally starts to relax after Lyla earns a scholarship to Windsor Academy, Nashville's most prestigious private school.

Kept me guessing and made me think
Revisado: 09-26-18
I enjoyed this book (a book club selection)more than I thought I would. It kept me guessing as to the real character of Finch. Also, gave me a lot to think about as a mom of a young boy. Particularly, the book shed light on how easy it is to be so busy that you miss those teachable moments that can shape your child’s character. I would recommend this book. It is a quick read that made me think.

One of my favorite books this year
Revisado: 05-13-15
Loved the story. Hard to stop listening.
Really enjoyed the voices of those who read. Added to the story rather than detracted from it. Would recommend this story and the audio to all.
