Historia
Growing up in an affluent suburb of New York City, 16-year-old Nevaeh Levitz never thought much about her biracial roots. When her Black mom and Jewish dad split up, she relocates to her mom's family home in Harlem and is forced to confront her identity for the first time. Nevaeh wants to get to know her extended family, but because she inadvertently passes as white, her cousin thinks she's too privileged, pampered, and selfish to relate to the injustices African Americans face on a daily basis.

Entertaining and touches on many hot topics
Revisado: 09-30-19
This story allows the reader to gain insight into the complexities of being a little bit of many things (culture, ethnicity and race) and also not belonging anywhere. Díaz does a beautiful job of weaving it all together and making it work into a beautiful story. It is entertaining, touches on many hot topics and it is also heart-warming. This book is a significant bit of literature that promotes conversations on meaningful subjects. I highly recommend it as a piece of required literature especially for high school students !!

Historia
In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Inspiring!!
Revisado: 01-06-19
I was Always impressed by the First Family in their grace and dignity. They were and continue to be an ideal that welcomes and embraces all people and inspires them. The story that Michelle shares allows one to recognize the depth, thoughtfulness and wisdom in how she operates. The title in itself leads one to ponder that meaning and how it might apply to their own journey. I am so grateful for this piece of literature and encourage everyone to read and grow.

Incredible production
Revisado: 10-24-15
This was one of my favorite audible books that I have read in a long time. The production, Including especially the voice of Arthur was so engaging. The story is in itself is endearing and painful and sad, yet very realistic. I highly recommend this book.
