Historia
The Christian life is built on three seemingly unremarkable practices: reading the Bible, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. However, according to David Mathis, such "habits of grace" are the God-designed channels through which his glorious grace flows - making them life-giving practices for all Christians.

Applicable, sustainable, and encouraging

Very much like reading Donald S. Whitney’s Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life, except in a more compact form. In fact, passages from that book were incorporated throughout that made this book an absolute delight and great refresher!

Jinger, along with three of her sisters, wrote a New York Times bestseller about their religious convictions. She believed this level of commitment would guarantee God's blessing, even though in private she felt constant fear that she wasn't measuring up to the high standards demanded of her.

Godly Womanhood?
Revisado: 02-03-23
It is good for women to have the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. 1 Peter
Likewise, young women should be working at home…Titus 2
I wish Ginger would have offered more clarity and supported these Biblical truths more fully, as it would have promoted true freedom indeed. The strictness in which she grew up in, more than likely, conserved her innocence in a way. It is a good thing to have a godly fear towards trying to live a pleasing life in the sight of the Lord to an extent. It’s not a bad thing to have a working conscience. It’s not a bad thing to read the Bible for 3 hours a day, but she made it sound like it was out of her fear of God, which isn’t a bad thing. She was young, obviously she was still being directed by the Holy Spirit and her parents. The umbrella of authority IS BIBLICAL though, and that is what protected Jinger, whether she knows and accepts it or not…
It takes spiritual maturity to have a spirit of discernment towards how much she and her family looked up to Gothard…or lack thereof…She threw Gothard under the bus, not her parents, which was good in a way, because I don’t know how much Gothard was actually using the Bible during his ministry. Either way, the Bible is the ultimate authority, and I’m glad Jinger applied scriptures to her book to support some of her claims.

Historia
The church used to be recognised as a force for good, but this is changing rapidly. Christians are now often seen as the bad guys, losing both respect and influence. In our post-Christian culture, how do we offer the gospel to those around us who view it as not only wrong but possibly dangerous? And how do we ensure that the secular worldview does not entice us away with its constant barrage, online and elsewhere, of messages about self-determinism?

The Narration
Revisado: 09-02-22
The narrator, Michael B. Carnes made frequent mistakes while reading aloud. He either took away or added his own words and even skipped a sentence as I followed along through the hard copy book.

Great book…low quality narration

The quality of the audio needs improvement. Other than that, great and timeless traditional and Biblical advice on marriage and relationships and honoring God!

Boring

The narrators are exceptional at taking this boring book and reading it aloud. The story itself is super slow and boring and kind of sad & depressing in all aspects.

Anxiety Break Through!
Revisado: 08-02-20
I am 26 years old and have been and still battling anxious thoughts and feelings. This book was much needed as it has helped me to see my thoughts and fears in a new light. I will be rereading this book over and over again, because it’s exactly what I needed to hear when I needed it most!
