Disappointment
Revisado: 09-21-20
After reading and loving The Palest Ink and The Scavengers Daughters, I thought this tragic story was so sad and violent and over done between the main characters. I couldn't wait to have it end. There were parts of the story that were so unnecessary. I would not recommend it to anyone.

An Unforgettable Story
Revisado: 08-10-20
Benfu and Ponyboy demonstrated an unbreakable friendship through treacherous times when Chairman Mao reigned terror over all of his subjects. The friends bravely tried to expose the truth. This story "could" repeat itself in America.

Historia
In this classic American adventure, Jack London explores the laws of civilization and wilderness - and the pull of instinct - through the eyes of Buck, a half Saint Bernard, half Scottish shepherd. London drew on his own experiences as a prospector in the Canadian wilderness, as well as the philosophies of Charles Darwin and Friedrich Nietzsche, for this enduring tale of survival.

This is the story of a wonderful dog who was passed from hand to hand. It is heart wrenching to listen to the cruelty of man, yet the spirit of this brave dog overcame every challenge.

Enjoyable

There were a lot of twists and turns, and joys and hardships that kept me listening to this family saga. I enjoyed the different voices in the narration. I am glad the story ended well.

Historia
For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She's had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone's toilet's overflowed, but she's never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are certain: There isn't enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.

Loved This Story
Revisado: 12-15-19
Listening to this story is like watching a movie, only better. The characters are so real, and struggles they face and overcome are won, by going against the grain. Catherine Ryan Hyde is my favorite author. Each one of her books are about people who have had real life situations that they have overcome and learned by.

Raymond Jaffe feels like he doesn’t belong. Not with his mother’s new family. Not as a weekend guest with his father and his father’s wife. Not at school, where he’s an outcast. After his best friend moves away, Raymond has only two real connections: to the feral cat he’s tamed and to a blind ninety-two-year-old woman in his building who’s introduced herself with a curious question: Have you seen Luis Velez?
