Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

The best
Revisado: 01-11-24
I’ve read many of Mr Dugoni books but this one was the best one. So much warmth and compassion without being sugary sweet. And the performance was so natural and trustworthy.
I cannot wait for the next book.

It started so promising
Revisado: 11-30-23
It started with quite an interesting story but after a while it turned to be a banal and overly sweet, long read. I’m not convinced.
I will prize the performance - all three VO artist were worth to listen to.

Good story, very well performed
Revisado: 04-06-23
From time to time I’ve got lost in details, but nevertheless - well written book and very well performed narration. It seems like it was the last book in the series. I’ll miss Theo and Jessica. I miss them already.

Not my favorite
Revisado: 03-25-23
Ok sort, not convinced, poor narration. The voice of the narrator is not so bad, but too emotional. It makes the romance moments too tacky.
I miss Mercy, both the character and the voice.

Good story, irritating narration
Revisado: 03-22-23
A somewhat unconvincing story. Sugary sweet performance especially by the female narrator.
I was disappointed with the book after reading the entire Mercy Kilpatrick series.
