Not “my Brooks” book

In the middle of this book I read about Mr. Brooks retirement from writing and passing the torch. I think this was the start. I literally have been reading since day one and this is not the Terry Brooks of old. I commend his wanting to retire at the top and I think he missed it here. This will be my last Shannara I think😢. Thank you Terry for almost 50 years of fun reading.

Definitely for young kids. These people need to be ruled over. Everybody (almost) is nothing but sarcastic. Nice to see Biblical references but that only goes so far. No need to continue.

Another reviewer commented this needed an editor/audio engineer to smooth out the VERY poor voice work done by Scott Brick, sadly it was Brick-by-Brick, oops. Way to many patched in pieces that really take you out of the book. Scott does some excellent work but this must have been a rush job. No one at Audible could have listened to this. Read the book.

Nice end of book 9 HOURS before end of book!!!!!!!!! Audio version Messed up. I'm sure plenty of you say this is an unfair rating but I'm truly annoyed no one caught this BEFORE release. Does me no good to RELISTEN when fixed because I KNOW THE ENDING NOW!!!!!!

Oh my god, give me Covenant!

Ok, nice suprise end, but left wide open.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The author has No inflections, or voice changes. He is READING the book. I was truly amazed at the end when they said they used an audio engineer. As other reviewers have said this sounds like he (the author) sat down at many different locations and it was spliced together from Lots of recordings. Sounds BAD with headphones.

Could you see The Ables being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Enjoyed story but was constantly put off by the hesitations of the narrator. Once I noticed the pauses I could not stop hearing them. A good audio editor should have given Ms. Best guidance.
