Like the practical approach to songwriting and appreciate the level of music theory that is discussed. Thoughts are well described and easily understood. Well done podcast.

Historia
Mary Gauthier was 12 years old when she was given her Aunt Jenny’s old guitar and taught herself to play with a Mel Bay basic guitar workbook. Music offered her a window to a world where others felt the way she did. Songs became lifelines to her, and she longed to write her own, one day. Then, for a decade, while struggling with addiction, Gauthier put her dream away and her call to songwriting faded. It wasn’t until she got sober and went to an open mic with a friend did she realize that she not only still wanted to write songs, she needed to.

Truth
Revisado: 04-22-24
Very powerful and transparent. I bought this book as a musician who is a lead guitar player who has told myself all my musical life...I don't sing. Yet, in the last few years things have happened that has me singing more and more in a ministry capacity and I have found that I love singing and now would like to start writing songs to go with the music. But, this book while being very helpful and informative on the craft of songwriting transcends that, and is a book that should be read if you are simply a human being.

Awesome short book, with great characters. The voice work was very good. Refreshing and would make a great movie. Very original...which is rare these days!
