Historia
Gill has taught screenwriting for 20 years at such institutions as Drexel University, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and East Carolina University, and he’s noticed a common pattern among his students. First-time screenwriters are generally excited and full of ideas—until they hit a wall: “It feels good until they get somewhere between pages 20–30,” he notes. “Then, they run out of things to write about. Why is there nowhere else to go? Why is it so short? Where is the rest of the story? What do they do now?”

I’ve listened to so many motivational speakers back in the day. We all need reminders of things we already know and even learn new things. It was so relatable!

Historia
Brooke Shields never had what anyone would consider an ordinary life. She was raised by her Newark-tough single mom, Teri, a woman who loved the world of show business and was often a media sensation all by herself. Brooke's iconic modeling career began by chance when she was only 11 months old, and Teri's skills as both Brooke's mother and her manager were formidable. But in private she was troubled and drank heavily.

I can relate
Revisado: 01-29-25
I’ve always felt alone being a momager to my daughter and only child not having friends who were in the same boat. I could relate to booking jobs for my daughter and our love/hate relationship. It was also timely listening about Brooke’s mom’s death. My mom passed away a few years ago and going through her things to get rid of is hard. It was nice to know these feelings we wrestle with in life are not uncommon. This book was a heartwarming relatable biography.

Historia
In this groundbreaking book David Powlison undertakes an in-depth exploration of the roots of anger, moral judgment, and righteous response by looking in a surprising place: God's own anger. Powlison reminds us that God gets angry too. He sees things in this world that aren't right and he wants justice too. But God's anger doesn't devolve into manipulation or trying to control others to get his own way. Instead his anger is good and redemptive.

Historia
It's easy to identify rage in people who lose their temper at traffic jams, unruly children, unresponsive coworkers, and unrealistic bosses. But we may not recognize more subtle manifestations of anger, such as being uncomfortable with loose ends, acting impatiently, or being overly critical. That is anger, too. And, as is so often the case, angry folks don't seem to realize that the behavior causing them problems at home or at work actually stems from unrecognized and unresolved pain and emotional injuries from the past.

Historia
For O.J. Simpson to get away with murder, an innocent cop, a brilliant detective, had to be destroyed. That was the cynical strategy of the Simpson defense. But as certainty about Simpson's guilt grew, so did the outrage about the scapegoating of Mark Fuhrman. Now the former LAPD detective tells his side of the story in a damning expose.
