Historia
Vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch are what we rely on to perceive the reality of our world. Our five senses are the conduits that bring us the scent of a freshly brewed cup of coffee or the notes of a favorite song suddenly playing on the radio. But are they really that reliable? The Man Who Tasted Words shows that what we perceive to be absolute truths of the world around us is actually a complex internal reconstruction by our minds and nervous systems.

Awesome apolictpyic story! Well written and and great storylines throughout. Main character was a little frustrating at times but I had to keep reminding myself of her age. Only thing I wished was to know what caused it.

Scott Turow has written a supercharged, exquisitely suspenseful novel about a vicious triple murder and the man condemned to die for it. No other writer offers such a profound understanding of what is at stake when the state holds the power to end a man's life.

Just...okay
Revisado: 01-12-25
In my opinion these stories have too many characters and sometimes it's hard to remember who's who. Narrator was fine, sometimes it was hard to decipher if it's a female or male character speaking. Story wise, it was just okay.

For starters, great story that had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. Now I'm my opinion, his books tendb to have a lot of different characters and it can be hard to keep them straight and remember who's who. Overall though, very enjoyable book!

The best one of The Kindle County series.
Revisado: 10-21-24
IMO, The best one yet. Very unique story with enjoyable twists and turns. My only qualm is the ending....for me, I like things to be wrapped up and not left with me wondering what happened. You read a book in hopes of having a succinct ending.

Just okay.
Revisado: 09-24-24
Comparatively speaking, this one is my least favorite of the first 3 books of the Kindle County series. It was enjoyable to have a hate/love relationship with the main character. The story it self was just meh. For me, too many characters to try and remember and remember what kind of person they are.

Presumed Innocent brings to life our worst nightmare: that of an ordinary citizen facing conviction for the most terrible of all crimes. It's the stunning portrayal of one man's all-too-human, all-consuming fatal attraction for a passionate woman who is not his wife, and the story of how his obsession puts everything he loves and values on trial - including his own life. It's an audiobook that lays bare a shocking world of betrayal and murder, as well as the hidden depths of the human heart. It will hold you and haunt you...long after you have reached its shattering conclusion.

As per usual, chalk this up to "better than the movie/tv show" saying. Great from beginning to end. Awesome character development and story line. Can't wait to start the next in the series. Great narration as well. 👏🏻

Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

Magic?!?!
Revisado: 07-27-24
In my opinion, there was no need for the magic. I felt it took away from what could have been a really good apocalyptic style story. Also, there were a lot of characters to keep track of and sometimes became confusing remembering who was who.

Another very detailed and descriptive story. Great character development. Personally I grew to dislike Frankie and her family but understood that was the norm. The ending was okay and the very ending was too perfect and cheesey.
