Historia
Detective Enid Vosh, a Malefica, or Witch, and recent graduate of the NYPD Academy, finds herself embroiled in a homicide case which points to a serial killer in the city. The victims all wind up being Elves who are hiding in the city as Sapiens, from the International Aelftus Assembly. Following the twists and turns in the case with her partner, Detective Rashid Sader, with the aid of Enid's own Coven, the venerable Central Park Coven and improbably, a representative of the Elf Assembly, it is a race to find the killer before he strikes again.

Ugh! Why!!!
Revisado: 01-22-24
The narrator truly isn’t bad but why the hell wouldn’t you listen to previous books to find out how to pronounce names that we’ve come to know??!!!!!
And why wouldn’t the author not listen to this rendition not contact the narrator and correct these mistakes ? Seriously , this takes me out of the story every time I hear something to off. Kelishia Renner is not even close in this reading.

Why?!
Revisado: 11-04-23
I have listened to all of this series, multiple times, and I love it. It’s a well thought out universe.
So I don’t understand why at the very last, the last 2 books you’d get another narrator. And why if you are that narrator would you not listen to the prior narrators work to know how to pronounce all the name’s?! It is so frustrating to get jarred out of the story by a wildly mispronounced name.

Listen to previous narrators
Revisado: 11-03-23
The story itself is good. I really like the series.
However, the narrator for this book should have listened to the previous narrator for name pronunciation. Having someone’s name change from one book to the next is really jarring.

Narrator kills the story
Revisado: 01-04-17
I think the story is probably really good but the narrator is so bad that it's hard to take any of it seriously. She should not read any books with tense moments.

side stories
Revisado: 06-07-12
I have listened to this series from the beginning, and have enjoyed them very much. This story however, was a bit of a let down. The High King of Montival ended with Rudy and Matilda... this story had very little to do with them or their companions. It wasn't a continuation of the series it was a side story.
The narrator seemed to have forgotten all the accents he used in previous books as well.
Overall a little dissapointing.

Historia
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Revisado: 11-08-11
If you want a totally engaging and entertaining read, look no further. The characters are well developed and the story is a fun and exciting ride from start to finish. It has been a long time since a book has so engaged me that I found myself lost in the story, rooting for Atticus, laughing outloud at him and his dog (especially his dog) and looking forward to the next book on pins and needles... I listened to all 3 books in as many days and am now going back to start them all over.

excellent book
Revisado: 09-20-11
In a world where all technology has stopped, including guns what would you do? The story is well thought out and well excecuted under that premise. People will do what is necesarry to survive, not all will be good. Society will collapse and people will be left with their skill, nerve and luck.
At least in this book there isn't so much radical right wing fundamentalism. Granted there is Paganism, but there are also christians and people with no faith at all. Isn't that more what the world really consists of anyway? They all find a way to live or they dont.
The narrator is decent, not everyone can be Jim Dale when it comes to accents.

good, but...
Revisado: 09-20-11
Everyone gives One Second After a hard time for being so right-wing conservative and keeping women subserviant but Patriots is just as bad. The story itself is good but with too much information ( don't think Tom Clancey could have added more)! You can get his book "How to survive the end of the world as we know it" if you need specifics on how to do things for real, this is a novel, right? Do we really need to know wood thicknesses for door construction and how to build a dog house and a make and model description for every gun pulled or shot throughout the whole book?

Historia
The gigantic comet had slammed into Earth, forging earthquakes a thousand times too powerful to measure on the Richter scale, tidal waves thousands of feet high. Cities were turned into oceans; oceans turned into steam. It was the beginning of a new Ice Age and the end of civilization. But for the terrified men and women chance had saved, it was also the dawn of a new struggle for survival--a struggle more dangerous and challenging than any they had ever known....

The story itself is good and well written. However, there are so many characters and so few with any real brains and strength to back it up...I wouldnt want to be involved with any of them.
