Historia
In the vibrant city-state of Castellane, the richest of nobles and the most debauched of criminals have one thing in common: the constant search for wealth, power, and the next hedonistic thrill. Kel is an orphan, stolen from the life he knew to become the Sword Catcher—the body double of a royal heir, Prince Conor Aurelian. He has been raised alongside the prince, trained in every aspect of combat and statecraft. He and Conor are as close as brothers, but Kel knows that his destiny is to die for Conor. No other future is possible.

Amazing world building!
Revisado: 11-18-23
This fantasy world was amazing! I truly lost myself in the story and the world. I cannot wait for more of this world to be written. The characters were well fleshed out and very thing fit so well together. I do not wish to spoil any story lines. if you like fantasy worlds that are created with ideas of magic and kings and emperors with a mix of deception and scandal as well as moral questioning...then you should definitely read or listen to this book!

Great Story Line
Revisado: 09-10-22
I really liked going back and forth from past to present! It flowed well and made it easy to follow along. I would have loved to get a little more of what happened in Pamela's world after the war and maybe even a few months or year check in on Julia.

Historia
Distant rumblings of conflict in Europe have reached even the secluded, snow-dusted mountains of Virginia, where Lauren Greenwood faces a battle of her own. The Great Depression is crippling America, leaving millions of its victims without shoes on their feet and clothes on their backs. Hope House - the orphanage Lauren runs - is suffering more than ever. The one thing Lauren is not short of is love. But with just a handful of dollars to her name, every day is a struggle to feed the orphans and keep a roof over their heads. Yet she refuses to give up.

I lived this book and could not stop listening! I highly recommend this as well as the first book "A Home for Unloved Orphans"
