Historia
For the past four years, Emory, Connor, and their families have vacationed side by side on Longboat Key, Florida. Eighteen-year-old Emory has pined for his neighbor from behind the covers of Stephen King books, but college boy Connor has never noticed him. Probably because Emory looks like Jack Skellington with good hair.

Absolutely Wonderful and Hilarious!
Revisado: 06-29-21
I am not one for writing reviews, usually satisfied with giving a vague star rating and leaving it there. This book however compelled me (like the power of… you know) to take the time and I assure you, it was no trouble. First, the mystery plot and the pop culture/ horror movie trope references were well thought out, well placed and the pacing was spot on.
Secondly all the characters are fleshed out and real (except perhaps Connor’s father, I’d love his back story!) and captured perfectly by Mr. Lockheart. Well done, sir!
Finally, this has to be one of the funniest books I have read in a very, very long time. I cannot remember having laughed out loud so many times before (much to the discomfort of my fellow subway riders who edged away from me ever so subtly!). All in all a splendid read/listen. I very much look forward to discovering more of Ms, Dobie Bauer’s work in the future. In any case, I shall always be glad to have come across this book. Thank you so much.
P. S. I was NOT supplied a free copy of this book but bought it on my own volition and wrote this review because I enjoyed it so much. Just WOW!

Historia
The man on the moon was dead. They called him Charlie. He had big eyes, abundant body hair, and fairly long nostrils. His skeletal body was found clad in a bright red spacesuit, hidden in a rocky grave. They didn’t know who he was, how he got there, or what had killed him. All they knew was that his corpse was 50 thousand years old - and that meant this man had somehow lived long before he ever could have existed.

What a nice surprise
Revisado: 01-30-21
Speculative fiction, especially as to how things progressed in our solar system, has always been a favourite genre of mine and this volume did not disappoint. It was well plotted with surprising twists and turns. Very well done indeed. The narration provided by Mr. Pruden was well voiced and proceeded at the appropriate pace with the occasional exciting passage, but nothing over the top. He may wish to work on his English accents, but apart from that, I could find no faults. Thank you Audible and Blackstone audio for bringing this book to life once again!

Discovering Jamie had also cleaned out my bank accounts made it officially the worst day of my life. I think I can be forgiven for wanting revenge, even if a few little laws (and possibly Jamie's nose) got bent in the process."

The main character Mark deserved everything that happened to him
Revisado: 03-10-20
I’ve not encountered a more dislikable main character/narrator since Ring Larder’s “Ex Parte”. He does everything he shouldn’t and yet sees himself as both above the law, while committing several crimes himself, and entitled to behave that way because he is a “victim”. Just take the L dude!
Mr. Gunn’s narration was excellent as usual.

I admit to being completely surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. The characters were well drawn and voiced superbly by the two narrators. The story was well paced and the dialogue crisp and sometimes very humorous indeed. I normally only leave star reviews but felt, in this case, I need to praise the author and thank her for weaving such a splendid tale.

Historia
Everything in Emery Hazard’s life is finally going well: His boyfriend, Nico, is crazy about him; he has a loyal partner at work; and he has successfully closed a series of difficult murders. By all accounts, he should be happy. What he can’t figure out, then, is why he’s so damn miserable. After a fight with Nico, Hazard needs work to take his mind off his relationship. And someone in town is happy to oblige by murdering the sheriff. The job won’t be easy; the sheriff had enemies, lots of them, and narrowing down the list of suspects will be difficult. Difficult, but routine.

Finally!
Revisado: 01-14-19
An excellent series with very clever mysteries solved by our intrepid duo. It could end with this book, and I would be happy, but I hope it will not and that it goes on for at least as many more as have already been written. There were very entertaining “Tele novella” aspects, wonderfully quirky characters, and a good deal of cracking wise. There were also moments of sheer terror and sadly, all to common human hatred, hubris, greed, and stupidity. I had a very few minor editing quibbles, but nothing of import.
Mr James was the perfect narrator for this series, giving each character a distinctive voice almost to the point of sounding like a cast of actors rather than just one person. His personifications of the two main characters were spot on and really helped the listener to form perfect mental images of them. As a listener of many audio books, this is apparently not an easy task and more than one story has been ruined because of it. Happily, that is not the case here. I highly recommend this series, and suggest that one starts with the first book and moves all the way through the series. That may sound like a lot, but with Tristan James’ narration, it is a pleasure. Kudos all round.

There is no better master of comedic language than Mr. Wodehouse. The Blandings series is one I have returned to again and again, finding something fresh in each new reading. Mr. Cecil is an excellent narrator, bringing his own sensibilities to each character’s voice, thus enhancing the experience. Highly recommended, eh wot?

A well written tragic mystery
Revisado: 05-07-18
It is almost impossible to review this book without giving away too much which I do not wish to do. I found the story line as regards the mystery completely engaging right up to the end. However, in my opinion, there are no protagonists here, not that there is anything wrong with that. This is not a love story, rather a tragedy with "romantic" elements (of sorts). The "main" characters are well wrought, as are the secondary ones and clearly differentiated by the excellent narration. Surprises abound! There is humor scattered throughout which helps. I will say this is unlike any other mystery I have ever read so I give kudos to the author for originality. This is definitely not your typical HEA M/M romance, which was a refreshing change. This was the first book by this author that I have read, so I shall have to see how it compares to his others. All in all five stars for originality, well-paced plot, well developed characters, surprises and the ending. Not everything ends happily, does it?
