Truly loved the two first in this The Art of Murder series. The plot and crime storyline in this third part wasn’t in my opinion thrilling enough. It wasn’t filled with breathtaking surprises or clever twists to get me in a good crime reading mood. Maybe it just didn’t feel like a full-length novel. I kind of waited for it to start... Hhmm.. — Wasn't I attentive enough? Did I dream away time and missed listening properly? It felt like I missed that usual energy, magic and excitement in a Lanyon book to a great extent. Still, as in every Lanyon, is it always nice to follow her/his main characters in each series, here two FBI agents, and their personal life in everynew book part.

... and I felt a small (tiny maybe and could be forgiven) but anyway it was a “cliff ending” there.

Perhaps not over-enthusiastic about Williams as a narrator but it was still a quite okay audiobook.

Summary: A good but not great Josh Lanyon crime/mystery MM.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Any additional comments?

Mists of the Serengeti is mostly a low in (relationship-) angst and overall a nice pretty easygoing love story to just simply enjoy and keep reading. Of course there are some sadness, sad family losses and sudden death to start with, but it solves in its own ways. We end with dried tears, huge promising love and new chances. — Best of all; it is not a overly long, not a overly complicated or a overly steamy smexy romance book. But I got enough nice steam and heat to get the feel of a yummy romance.

Mists of the Serengeti let me with the feeling of kindhearted sweetness with two main characters and a couple of second characters to sincerely like and feel for. It also gave me some hours when I was hooked in a intriguing plot (“albino children mystery”) told with high speed suspense at times.

My summary:
• All in all a yummy good holiday read when you like me enjoy to spend time with nice heartwarming love stories.
• This 12 hours audiobook is very well narrated by Zachary Webber and Megan Tusing.
• Recommended for old fashion romantic girls and ladies ... actually all kind of fans of contemporary romances.

Would you try another book from Jodi Taylor and/or Anna Bentinck?

Yes

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narrator: In my opinion well enough narrated by Anna Bentinck. She does it very well but I’m sorry to say I just didn’t like her choice of voices at all times. ... Perhaps I sometimes felt that it became a bit too ridiculous female and at times a bit too exaggerated, and maybe another voice for example the heroine would have made me more convinced.

Any additional comments?

A well-thought-out story with a interesting enough refreshing puzzle dissolution at the end. Adult feel, a spiritual language with much irony between the main characters and main characters to feel for. All in all a very lovely not too long novel with both an old crime to solve, strange new events, suspense and gunfire, at least two romantic romances to cross your fingers for, and best of all some nicely told traditional British social gatherings at castles and mansions.

Easy done, quite short and much fun. ~ Oh yes, I’m happy about this one. I giggled a lot and sincerely had a satisfied little smile in my face most time. I’m not overwhelmed about the audiobook narrators choice of character voices but in all good enough.

Funny and geeky as always. Great narrated (applauses) but a bit more creepy mystery case than in the first two. Looking forward to continue with the fourth part. — My favorites cops right now. Ceepak is just like nobody. Love him. ...and dear Danny.

Very enjoying audio-listening again...
The Nell Sweeney Mysteries is maybe my favorite historical crime series right now. I love to be with these terrific fiction characters and I just want more audio-hours with this lovely narrator.

Murder in a Mill Town brings a new mystery case for Nell Sweeney. — A young worker woman has very strangely suddenly disappeared. Her parents, mother at least, are worried and they are visiting the Hewitt's townhouse to ask the Lady of the house for help. ...Their daughter was working at the Hewitt family's big textile mill. — We also learn more about Nel's past and Duncan.

# A new good mystery case. I wasn't sure who was the evil villain until the very last end and it was both exciting and thrilling heartbreaking.

# Best of course the slowly developing so very interesting relationship between Nell and Will.

Not a romance series but this is for sure for me. Looking forward to start the third audiobook "Death on Beacon Hill" really soon.

3 1/2 Stars - Nice enough but not impressive good as a CM rightly should be. Luckily is this audio-narrator fabulous and simply perfect.

It is sad to write about a Milan historical but maybe is "Once Upon a Marquess" a bit too casual gray, pale and sad for me. Maybe was it filled with too much depressing facts, lacking in the truly (shimmering grand pink) romantic part and too much a story about day to day problems for a tired older poor sister. There are a lot of problems, hate, trouble, kittens, siblings, grieving, old depressing stuff and maybe also too many back flashes for my taste. I expected more. I know I rightly can.

Finally: I looooove to listen to Ms Rosalyn Landor, I sincerely admire Ms Courtney Milan's great writing AND I will continue this new CM series. A promising start. I'm sure there will be future great books.

**4 Stars**

Yes, of course you feel that it's been 45 years since "The Unexpected Mrs Pollifax" first was published, but this was excellent. Truly enjoying audiobook entertainment in the old school spy thriller genre. Not always believable but with heart. Add a FANTASTIC narration from Mrs Rosenblat.

Gosh, so much fun! ~ Even old housewife ladies perform great deeds and surprise you in the case of national security.

I LIKE - grannies with gunpowder
