Fresh...for me
Revisado: 01-20-18
I read and listen to so many books that I often work my way through an author's body of work and have to go a'hunting for new geniuses who are willing to share with me. These guys filled the bill. First exposure to their stuff. Would have liked more balance between the two main characters, and a little more "wham" and clarity from the denouement; but not every criminal case has the same amount of electricity or clarity to share with the world. This "case" and its criminalist(s) are novel enough to stretch anybody's imagination and to suspend reality for a few hours, which is what I expect a good book to do---slightly muddy plot, aside. I'll be listening to more from this pair. Mr. Aberjonois is good, but I found the occasional grinding-groaned words that inserted themselves from out of nowhere a little off-putting.

Historia
Detective Jacob Lev wakes one morning, dazed and confused: He seems to have picked up a beautiful woman in a bar the night before, but he can’t remember anything about the encounter, and before he knows it, she has gone. But this mystery pales in comparison to the one he’s about to be called on to solve. Newly reassigned to a Special Projects squad he didn’t even know existed, he’s sent to a murder scene far up in the hills of Hollywood Division. There is no body, only an unidentified head lying on the floor of a house.

Here, the Kellerman boys have wraught rot
Revisado: 11-10-17
Sucked! The Kellerman boys have fallen over the edge of the abyss, appearing to forget what getting a story from their heads into the readers head is all about.

Compelling
Revisado: 06-19-08
Intelligent yet simplistic story. Very original. Loved it. Would recommend it to anybody with half a brain. Loved the ending. If you like your stories "tight," don't bother. If you can read between the lines and love to use your imagination, go for it. Not anything like my favorite writers: Baldacci, Kellerman, Connely, Parker -- but very refreshing! Ms. Crouse started weak, but pretty soon I was loving her. She's something of an acquired taste -- just as she is in the movies. This writer will go far.
