Historia
Frank Swanson is a serial killer. His entire life he has moved from place to place, never putting his roots down in any one town too long. He has studied his craft, and he has reasons and justifications for who he is and what he does. But one quiet night as Frank disposes of a body, his world changes forever. In a rural Texas town on the banks of a river, Olivia Rainey becomes Frank's first witness over his long career of killing. Strikingly beautiful, but with dark secrets and longings of her own, she sends his world into a tailspin with her mysteriously self-destructive actions.

Dark, unique serial killer novel!
Revisado: 04-12-14
This book was very unique. The storyline almost reads like true crime. Frank Swanson is a killer whose path was chosen when he was very young. When he meets Olivia, things really begin to change for him I did not see the end of this book coming. It was a great twist and I highly recommend this book.

Can't wait until book two is in audio form!
Revisado: 05-08-13
While I have read the entire series (currently at four books), I wanted to sit back and listen to someone read it to me. I'm a huge fan of Shelman's writing, and I love the way John Perry put his touch on the characters, particularly Hemp Chatsworth. Each time a new book was released, I would re-read the previous books in the series - so now I've read Dead Hunger four times, Dead Hunger II: The Gem Cardoza Chronicles three times, Dead Hunger III: The Chatsworth Chronicles (a favorite!) twice, and Dead Hunger IV: Evolution, once. Now, I can listen to the first one. I read Edward's review and was shocked and appalled, and sincerely hope that he does not influence any one of you. The last thing Shelman's story can be called is unimaginable - his take on the Z-apocalypse is more unique than any I have ever read, and I am what I consider to be a zombie afficionado. So take it for what it's worth, but I found both quality and imagination in the entire series, and will buy each audiobook as it is released. Flex, Gem, Hemp and Charlie - forever! I can't wait for book five, which I understand from his Facebook page that the author is now working on. Bring it on!
