I love thrillers that keep you guessing until the very end. This book was exactly like that. Even at the very end of the book, you think you know what's going on and then you get hit with a curve ball. Fantastic writing, narrating, everything.

Meh.
Revisado: 07-13-16
Downloaded this book because of the good reviews. When my friend and I finished it, all we could say was, "Finally!" The actual book may not have been that bad, but the narrator of the audio book was so disappointing. She speaks in a monotonous whisper the ENTIRE book, including when the characters are supposed to be angry or yelling. Usually I can get past a poor narration, but I just couldn't with this book. One thing that really bothered my friend was that the main character talks frequently about her best friend, who she never actually talks to or is introduced in the book. It's kind of like the author just didn't feel like adding another character. Overall, it just made me feel very, "Meh."

Historia
After a student choir’s practice session at a Helsinki villa turns deadly, Detective Maria Kallio finds herself in the middle of the action - and her first murder case. Someone in the group wanted playboy Tommi Peltonen dead, but that’s one song these suspects refuse to sing. Behind the choir’s jovial facade lies bitter passion, and the victim’s seemingly perfect life hid a host of sins that made him a target of almost everyone in the villa. As a young female - and a redhead to boot - Maria knows that solving this case will help her overcome her perceived shortcoming in the eyes of her colleagues.

Eh.
Revisado: 05-06-16
I really don't think the book would have been too bad if it were a different narrator. I didn't feel like the narrator made any of the character voices different from the main character, so it was really hard to tell when another character was talking until she was over a sentence in, and then it was just confusing. The end of the book felt kind of rushed and all over the place while the beginning and middle dragged on. Best way for me to describe it is, "Meh."

I think that this was the quickest I've ever finished am audiobook before. The writing was great, the narrator was great, it was all just amazing. If you're in to dystopian-like books, this'll be right up your alley.

I really enjoyed this book. Very descriptive author, and the narrator did a great job. Kind of confusing at first, switching between this person/first person, but in the end it all makes more sense as to why is written the way it is. I would definitely recommend it!
