Historia
A window is but a piece of glass through which we view the world outside. It is not meant to distort. It is not intended to do anything but show us things as they are. At Oxford, though, there is a very particular window that reveals a very particular view. It is a view that defies all laws of nature and science. And when a detective is called in to investigate, he is startled to find that view opens a window into his own life–and a mystery he has never been able to solve.

Historia
Young playwright Melina Green has just written a new work inspired by the life of her Elizabethan ancestor Emilia Bassano. But seeing it performed is unlikely, in a theater world where the playing field isn’t level for women. As Melina wonders if she dares risk failure again, her best friend takes the decision out of her hands and submits the play to a festival under a male pseudonym.

Without a doubt, Picoult's best!
Revisado: 09-19-24
This intriguing story of two women, centuries apart, who both face so many challenges only because they are women, is one that every women needs to hear or read.
Emilia and Melina show us how, even though hundreds of years have passed, women still struggle to have their work taken seriously. Picoult does a great job of making both Emilia and Melina feel real. Emilia’s character is especially interesting because she lived during a time when women had no freedom to speak or share their ideas, yet she did.
The story moves between the past and the present, helping readers see how some things have changed but how many problems remain the same. It will make you angry, hopeful, and so sad, all at the same time. I bawled my eyes out at the end.

Revisado: 09-01-24
Picoult is the best of the best and her story telling takes you into these girls' bedroom with this family. Wach character is so well designed and represented that they feel like friends. Once again, the ending was so unexpected, I actually gasped.

Historia
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

No thrills but not bad
Revisado: 07-28-24
The story was extremely predictable but I never wanted to turn it off. It needed a younger narrator for the high school boys’ voices. Overall, I didn’t mind it and it helped me get through Saturday morning chores, so it gets 3 stars. Not bad, but not great either.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

The Perfect Narrator for a Great Story
Revisado: 04-02-24
This is one of my favorite listens so far. I wasn't a huge Stephen King fan, admittedly without much basis, but now I will definitely listen to more on his work. I was very impressed by his writing style. The narrator was by far one of the best that I've listened to. I felt like I was listening to my dad tell me a story. Not once did I drift off, which is saying a lot. I highly recommend this book. It's long but very worth it!

Was there even a climax? The story was boring and uneventful. Also, the midwestern accent did not help.
