It's like a poor movie adaptation of a great book. I feel like there's a whole world in the authors head that she didn't put onto paper or cut. It jumps from one event to the other without a good transition. There's the skeleton of world building, but it's not fleshed out. I love the idea of this dystopian world, but I have 2 hours left on this very short audiobook and I'm not going to finish it. The authors writing is great and leaves enraptured until I'm just..confused and disoriented with the odd transitions and lackluster relationships between characters, their world, and their relatives. I'll give it another shot if this series every releases and extended or expanded version.

Amazing Story

Really enjoyed the second book. Nervous with how the next 3 will hold up, but I was happy with this story. I even went out and bought the Holiday edition of Fourth Wing!

I do agree with other revjews that the narrator was distracting, so I've decided to go with the hard copy of the next books. Her voice is pleasant, but the swallowing and sniffing should've been edited out. It's audibly better than the first book.

Struggling to finish the last one. It's so different and such a whiplash addition to the story. I feel like I'm reading a knockoff fanfic. The first two books are so good and enthralling. I don't really care about her or any of the side characters anymore. The writing is just as good and love the authors descriptive imagery, but the story itself just isn't a vibe.

After finishing a 10 book series and expecting to take a few hours to get into a headspace of a new story, I was pleasantly thrilled to be dragged into Genevieve's story. You can make several guesses of what's going to happen next and you'll never quite know where this thrilling mystery is going to swing you next. I'd describe it as both a cozy mystery and a thrilling adventure! I'll be hunting down more from this author!

Missing Chunks

Went from Luce reaching into a bag or as the narrator said "ba-" to another chapter starting to Harlow waking up with a fire in her belly. Another chapter was completely skipped earlier on. Happily you get the majority of 10 books for 1 credit, but that's crap.

Narration Too Disteacting

I love audio books but the voice over for this title isn't very good. Every sentence ends with a sigh. It reminds me of an exaggerated Star Trek William Shatner impression mixed with a dramatic teenage girl. The story is great and the narrator does have a great voice, it's just the delivery is really distracting. I'll have to buy this book myself in order to get the story.

Great Sequel

I don't understand the hate this sequel got. This was a wonderful ending to the story of Seraphina.
