Historia
Hello to you, I am with news. I have a new book: I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You. I know – what an intriguing title! Basically, I have had an unexpectedly difficult decade – there have been surprising joys but also deep revelations and challenging lows. I shall be honest about those, because what I discovered in the difficult times were my, what I call, treasures.

Hoping for more memoir less self help
Revisado: 01-07-25
OK yeah, I wanted more memoir and what I got was self help, but it was really good! Much of her "story" was how she got healthier in her thinking and self perception, etc. I am just a big fan over here in the US and tempted to re watch Call the Midwife Season 3 again just to get more Miranda!! I loved her sitcom from back in the day, and can only hope she gets more gigs though I am sure there are plenty I have missed. I read the first book or rather listened to it and it too, was really good. Thanks for sharing your wellness journey and I for one, am happy you have so many treasures :) and found your husband just from staying at home. (So did I so we have that in common.)

Truly enjoyed hearing Dr Wen share her story from her childhood until the present. I remember her on TV during the pandemic and thought then she was knowledgeable and forthright. I especially loved this audiobook because I learned so much about the role of public health. I knew what public health was but after listening to her give all the examples and ways it interfaces with our lives I realized how much I didn't know. It is a shame that medicine and public health have become politicized. Thanks for what you do. You give me more courage to speak out on these issues.

Very glad I found out who Nancy French is/was and became interested in her book when it came out. I really appreciated her story and the stories she told. Thank you for being courageous and listening to so many who had something to say. We all need to do more of that. Goose bumps multiple times and at the ending. Love God's sense of humor.

Revisado: 04-23-24
Took me a while to finally read/listen to this book and I am glad I did! I even revisited some youtube clips of the young women at sentencing. This is an excellent story written by an incredible person who made it happen. And yet it should not have taken her to make it go forward, but she happens to be a trained attorney who pushed for the truth. I was so disheartened by the epilogue and how institutions do not see victims and survivors (and children!) as worthy to protect. So much can be said but for now, thank you for writing this and I hope to hear more from you as you work with other institutions including the church, the last safe place.

Loved this book
Revisado: 02-03-24
I am not a bird person, but I was super interested in what it would be like to raise a wild bird. And now I’ve learned one story. I wish Ms Hughes would write a book about her owls now. I sought her out on YouTube and found her on the CBS morning show in a relatively recent piece and it was really delightful to hear and see her talk and to see the grounds of where she lived and where this book was set in Wales. Thank you for this!

Investigative story telling
Revisado: 08-16-23
I enjoy books by investigative journalists and detectives about real life events. This book had 4 perspectives interlayering over each other: writer, police, offender and victim survivors. This book was well done, with chapters well identified to keep the reader aware of the year and whose voice was sharing. I am always amazed at what I learn when it comes to how police do their jobs, communicate, put their info in the systems and cross share about crimes and how all of that is what leads to finding the perpetrator. With no communication between jurisdictions or even investigative reporters, much will be missed and the bad guy will keep getting away. Good story, Thanks Ms Leitner for a job well done and for sharing your story too.
