If you’re a Buffy fan, you need to listen to this!! So good. Christopher and Amber gave them a great story and the cast (unsurprisingly) slayed it. 😉

Historia
King Ludwig II of Bavaria was an enigmatic figure who was deposed in 1886, mysteriously drowning three days later. Eccentric to the point of madness, history tells us that in the years before he died Ludwig engaged in a worldwide search for a new kingdom, one separate, apart, and in lieu of Bavaria. A place he could retreat into and rule as he wished. But a question remains: did he succeed? Enter Cotton Malone.

The incomparable Steve Berry returns with a brand-new connected standalone Cotton Malone adventure set in settings so beautifully described you will feel like you’re there.
THE LAST KINGDOM delivers captivating alternate history, thrilling twists, and evocative characters all wrapped up in a compelling riddle amidst riveting political intrigue like only Berry can do. He has a true knack for sussing out those missing or incomplete historical facts and utilizing them as brilliant plot devices. And for someone who actually disliked History in school, hooking me like he does every time is quite the feat.
I also love that friend of the Berrys and fellow amazing author Lexi Blake gets a shoutout in this in the form of a great character, and I adored that Luke Daniels was integral, creating the perfect setup for THE NINTH MAN, Berry’s upcoming June novel with Grant Blackwood—which I am super excited for.

Historia
The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore ( Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving.

One of the most interesting books I have listened to in ages. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s like a collection of vignettes, beautifully blended into an overall arc.

One of my favorites.
Revisado: 01-17-22
Not every Steve Berry book has to be the next blockbuster action-adventure movie. Sometimes, an artfully crafted “what-if” tale is exactly what the reader needs, and that’s what I got with this installment. But don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of action! Just more thought-provoking instances and mystery to pillow those scenes.
As always, Mr. Berry takes me on a wonderful trip around the world, making me feel as if I’m right there with the characters. And, again, as always, the conflict at the heart of the tale is timely, relevant—and slightly uncomfortable. I know people didn’t like the politics in this book, but the plot needed it. This would not have been the same novel without those uncomfortable pieces pointing out the conflict of the characters and the world. The fact that it mirrored real-world events made it even better in my mind.
I also adored that Mr. Berry split up Cotton and Cassiopeia for a lot of the book. The grand arc required more than one protagonist, and I loved how they each handled their parts and then came together once more to bridge those intel gaps.
A gripping, intellectual historical thriller that I was all too happy to get lost in.
Thank you for another escape, Mr. Berry!

I chuckled at book 1. I outright laughed at this one. So many wonderful moments. The wrap-up of the suspense felt a bit like an afterthought, but I honestly didn’t care. It was still fabulous.

Reminded me why I love shifter novels!
Revisado: 07-25-18
A book that reminded me why I love shifter books so much. Beautifully written and utterly captivating, BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON didn’t let go and left me wanting more. Add to that Jeffrey Kafer’s delectable growl and stomach-tightening timbre, and you have one hell of an audio winner.
This is the first book I've listened to in ages that I found excuses to keep listening to. Normally, I'm a start and stop kind of gal, but I literally hurried through anything that was an adult responsibility just so I could get back to it.
In addition, I should mention that I normally like narrators who do voices. Jeffrey does not. And I didn't care. He changed it just enough for the listener to differentiate, and his voice is absolutely perfect for Jodi's sexy, alpha, hot-and-steamy yet action-packed Arkansas Werewolves.
If you love shifter novels, I highly recommend this book. It's everything we all love in a beloved read paired with an author's voice that I dare you not to fall in love with.

Gripping start to a new series!
Revisado: 10-03-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Wyvern's Mate to be better than the print version?
I'm a huge fan of Deborah's dragon books, and when I heard she was doing a new series with women dragon shifters, I was very intrigued. I love the sci-fi feel of these, with the dragon realm being on another planetary realm, and Deborah did an amazing job with the romantic tension in this first installment of the Dragons of Incendium.
Drakina must join with her prophesied carrier and conceive a son who is set to be the crown prince and the savior of their planet. However, the dragon princess has no intention of staying with the human once she's gotten what she's after. But when she gets to know him, she realizes that Troy is her heartmate, not just her baby daddy. Unfortunately, the man's intentions for the princess are nefarious.. He's bartered to get out of prison in exchange for the dragon's life. But once he meets her, he knows he'll never be able to do it, and his life might just be worth a few moments of pleasure in her arms.
Drakina and Troy's journey of discovery is rife with surprises and will keep you riveted. The only reason I didn't give the book the 5th star was because it was very short and left me feeling as if the story were rushed a bit. Someting to be expected with novellas, however. I'm looking forward to listening to more, as Saskia is perfect for the narration of these tales!
