Disappointing after the intriguing Book 1

The first book Homebound had a dystopian and gritty feel. The connection between the 2 main protagonist made sense and the chemistry felt right. The character arc of "Simon" was interesting and fun to read. Sky Song sounded terribly artificial and there was no believable background to why the main female character "Emma/Cricket" falls for a perfect stranger who is a "chubby"alien with a pretty face BUT of the same race of the first book 's male lead who almost killed her mother...
This made Emma/Cricket come across as an airhead and her male counterpart didn't come across as real either... he falls in love with her for no particular reason other than it's necessary in this plot.
All of this is a true shame because there was a lot of potential in regard of the plot.
A very disappointing read after Homebound and Zero. Please Ms Hope should there be a Book 3 bring us more of the grit and the surprises of your two previous books because you are a talented writer!!

He is hot and a scot and a werewolf. That's basically the trope. Everything else is nonsense. The "mouse" turns into a "sex-craved shewolf". Berk. Ms Taylor's creativity appears to be going downhill. What happened to the well-written and rather believable characters such as Keane, Colin, Stone, ... ? Her latest characters are caricatures of the former and the women... meh!
However Samantha Brentmoor did a very decent job as a reader, but somehow got replaced with the absolutely horrid reader Ms Lacy for the next book. I couln't finish this book, I will not even attempt the next one and will most likely cease reading this author's future work. It's just become too damn dumb!

How many times must we hear that the hero's background isn't good enough for the heroine and how many times do we need to hear that she is "chaos". Even Mary Jane Wells who is one of my favourite readers didn't sound into this story!

Damn! I really REALLY tried to finish this one, but I simply couldn't. The anticlimactic plot completely lacked originality. It sounded like the author wove a bland tale which compiled all of the body-positive and self-acceptance greatest hits. Remarkably boring unless you're a plump person who's been living under a rock for the past 20 or so years... (how old is the body-positive movement already)?

he road to self-discovery and acceptance of the heroine's didn't appear as a challenge at all. She came from a loving kind background and frankly, it sounded like everything was being served to her except for the fact that she was a bit plump. And so what ??? You're fat and there's a jackass (Ben in the story) who cannot appreciate your value. She was getting attention as writer despite jotting down pretty lame posts.

was pretty easy-going... ok she was plump and didn't have her dream-job, but that was about it. bare the lack of originality of a vastly anti-climatic plot

The lead female character is supposed to be a journalist with a growing online following... which was really hard to believe because he posts were so lame

The author attempted to create an emotional connection between Wes, the super hot MC, and Britta, the "funny" plus-sized FC. Sorry, but I just didn't buy it.

Billionaire trope getting old

Clementine Dove is a great narrator, one of my favourites. But her badass Russian accent is caricatural, sadly. Nevertheless, she knows how to read a story. So praise to her.

I have consumed many, many of Mrs Taylor's romantic/erotic tales. However, I'm growing tired of her lead male's "alpha" profiles... billionaires, CEOs, high profile assassins, when they're not rockstars or star sportsmen, etc.

The trope of men with larger than life looks, bodies, personalities, money and issues, who are broken and have gone through some kind of trauma is growing old. The overall extensive use of it in romance storytelling is nauseating.

Yes, these men inspire thrills, chills, as well as empathy. Oh! And then we just have to love them when we discover that they are decent human-beings behind all their meanness and crap, once the heroine awakens higher values and love within their dark souls. However, there's something terribly girlish and superficial about the trope, as it plays and reinforces women's erroneous belief that they're able "to change" a man...

My take is that it's time to have more down to earth heroes, who have no blood on their hands, are of average height and muscle mass, why not someone with a pot belly, huh ? If your heroines can be curvy or plump, why are your men always cut out like "super men"?

I understand women's "as old as time" fantasy to have some powerful, rich, successful , DDG dude take care of them, protect and "save them"... but come on Mrs Taylor, we're in the 21st century now... and many "sisters are doing it for themselves" since the 1980s, well at least according to Aretha Franklin and Eurythmics, to name just them.

So just MAYBE, it would be refreshing for such a talented writer, as Mrs Talyor, to get out of her comfort zone and take on a creativity challenge by cooking-up male lead characters who are average, both in size, strength, intelligence and background; someone grounded in everyday reality and who still manages to have an interesting personal development arc; a hero, who'd be more like most of the female characters she makes-up, pretty ordinary women, actually.

One of the cutest RomCom's I've read in the past year. I really like the "subliminal" message in this romcom. It's all about people learning to accept themselves as they are, find the good and strengths within and allowing oneself to be vulnerable so as to be loved. Everyone has their little place in the world never mind their flaws or other's expectations. So true and so sweet.
I'm a fan of Talia Hibbert, I must say.
In this particular story, I love the fact that the female lead is hefty but has no issues about her body and knows herself to be absolutely adorable and attractive. The male lead is attracted to her. She's not desperately trying to lose weight, her body is no issue, actually, it's an asset in all of its round glory, which is absolutely refreshing in this day and age where being overweight or simply round is still "a inofficial cardinal sin".
If you're into light romance that ends gleefully on a possible HEA with well-built characters and some real life pathos, and have a taste for high-functioning autistic male leads, well then, this is the book you. Jacob is absolutely endearing and so is his girl.

Entertaining story. Nothing fascinating. Sadly they were fated mates, but at least the werewolf attempted to "resist" the fatality.
What I enjoyed : a female lead who kicked ass, a bit of humor, an alpha who really didn't come across as all that much alpha, the narrator brought the story nicely to life as well as the humorous parts.
What I'd like : more humor MORE HUMOR !!!!!

Loved this story. I enjoyed the grit and nastiness of the dude. There's no airy boring fairy here. He's no prince charming and has a lot of issues which makes him humane in my opinion.
If your like wheeling, dealing antiheroes with an attitude, who have their schemes blow up in their face without ever giving up on said schemes. This book might be for you.
I love antiheroes because their flaws make them so much more interesting to read.
At times this particular antihero is hilarious.
I actually wish the author would add more comic effect in her books. It was also nice to read about gender-related issues.
All in all, thanks Theodora Taylor for creating a character slightly less troubled (no one has died per say) but just as likable as Loki from Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Tough heroine who was very likable. I would have enjoyed a bit more character development on the hero's side and more information RE his origins. But all in all a good surprise !!
