Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Move Over Jack Reacher
Revisado: 06-20-22
This is a great initial offering for what promises to be a hard to put down series. My preference is for the good guys to win or to be avenged when necessary. This story satisfies those needs plus it's just a great "read". I really like how Carr knows his stuff and shares it in the manner of a committed educator. I've learned so much from this book. I highly recommend Jack Carr's offering.

Historia
On his first day of college, all Jeremy Miller can think about is getting away from his hellish home life, making the wrestling team, and finally getting a real boyfriend. He's sick to death of being used by closeted football players who are too afraid to admit they like guys. What he doesn't count on is losing his mind over the gorgeous, golden-eyed wrestling captain who needs to keep their attraction a secret at all costs.

Nice College Coming Out Story
Revisado: 07-08-19
I thought the plot was very believable. There was a college freshman (Jeremy) who planned to become himself at college and let everyone know he was gay. His love interest was a heavily closeted senior wrestler (Beck). Their dance of coming together and moving apart seemed to capture the real life struggles of young people caught between what they believe are society's (or family's or friend's) expectations and their true self. There were many great moments in the story but I think my favorite was when the oversized wrestler (Caleb) who had been menacing Jeremy from the start and played the ever-macho fool admitted to his friend Beck that he liked Jeremy and was teasing him because of that and that he would never expose Beck's secret life. This was an incidental small piece of the story but underscores the talent of the author in attending to the details. I've just started the 2nd book in the series and hope that by the time I'm done there will be book 3 ready to download.

Historia
I am complex. My love is all-encompassing. And when it comes to my heart, there is only one rule: Don’t mess with what’s mine. Until the age of seven, I was Joel Alexander Donovan, son of Jimmy. The man who terrorized a town and made its citizens fear the very ground he walked on. Including me, the day I realized that ground ran red with blood. At age 18, I became Priest. A man without a past. A man determined to right the wrongs of my father. A man who never believed anyone could love the son of such a monster.

There should be more
Revisado: 06-10-19
I really don't like this being the end of a great series. There were enough books here that you get an opportunity to really get to know the characters, their relationships, their strengths and weaknesses. I found myself wondering exactly what they might look like if being cast for a movie. In my imagination, they were total eye candy. I appreciated the contradiction in the character of Priest: he is intensely private but also generous in sharing of himself. I loved the ending (and won't spoil it here), but I want to read more about this group of friends.

For a gay husband, few fantasies are as strangely arousing and excitingly taboo as sharing his man with another. While some would find the very thought of such an encounter to be something of a nightmare, the enlightened have found that there is nothing more arousing than giving your special guy the gift of a hardcore double anal penetration.

Needs more variety & story change alerts
Revisado: 06-10-19
I wanted something a little raunchy and this filled the bill. The first couple of stories were really hot. Then it became obvious that the entire series is the same story told with different names and slight variations only. It could have been so much better with more variation in the story lines. The thing that was most annoying is that each story bleeds into the next without any notice that one has ended and a new one is starting. The first few times, I totally missed that stories had changed and thought it was a weird non sequitur. Once I figured out there was no break between stories, I could follow the changes a little more but this approach is still annoying.

Historia
Blake never has problems finding tricks, and he's learned that half the fun is in doing it behind his boyfriend Todd's back. But when Todd suggests a threesome to reignite their relationship, the opportunity to bring in one of his regulars and dupe his boyfriend right under his nose is too tantalizing to resist. Todd loves Blake, but after Blake's cancer treatments, it seems nothing Todd does can excite him. For six months, he's waited patiently for his boyfriend's interest to return, but it's clear if he doesn't do something drastic, nothing will change.

Absolutely the Right Title
Revisado: 12-08-17
I was looking for something dark and erotic and raw and this fit the bill nicely. The cheater was indeed a bastard from the start of the story to the end. This isn't a romantic story but there are lots of those stories available if you are looking for one. There are fewer of these dark stories in the erotic genre and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hated the ending, but even that ends up making it a more memorable story. Sometimes the good guy doesn't win. If I could have changed one thing about it, it would be to add about 10 more hours to the story!!! I will be purchasing all of McCormack's stories.

One of the Best!
Revisado: 09-22-14
I typically don't write reviews but do listen to my books daily. This one moved me to write something simply because it breaks the mold. You start out knowing at least something about how the story will end but that never seems to take away from the steady forward motion of the plot and action line. I really think that Scott Brick's narration nudges the rating above where it might be if it had been read by somebody else. The performance makes such a difference. I was sad to have the story end but loved the ending! I'll definitely be checking out more by Gregg Hurwitz!

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Worth the time
Revisado: 09-06-12
This is one of the more imaginative stories I've listened to in a long time. It really is full of unexpected twists and turns, as well as some expected ones. I found it started a little slow but still held my interest, but after a couple of hours I was really hooked. It requires willing suspension of disbelief to really follow the plot but I am always willing to do so when I'm reading science fiction/fantasy. Clines has a nice way of keeping the dialog real, even when events are unreal. I thought characterizations were great and have to give the narrator kudos for doing such a great job of differentiating those characters through subtle use of his voice. I especially liked the voice of God.
This book is definitely worth your time; prepare to be surprised.

Great Scary Read
Revisado: 05-28-12
This is a well-conceived story with plenty of twists and turns. It's right on the cusp of horror and would be a great movie. There are several possible perpetrators along the way and each time I thought I had it figured out something would occur that made me question my thinking. The sorry-line is good by itself but the narration takes it over the top. Luke Daniels really gets into the lead character and brings him to life.
This is well worth your time.

Ho Hum!
Revisado: 11-21-11
I usually don't bother writing anything after listening to an audio book as I find that others have already expressed my sentiments. I make an exception in this case as I really thought that this was an incredibly boring story told in an equally boring fashion. I did follow it through to the end as I hoped that it would improve but now understand that my instincts about halfway through part 1 were correct. What is bothersome to me is there was true potential for this to be a great book. Maybe that's true for all books...
I would not recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a captivating and fast moving story that hooks you in early and holds you to the end.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

One of the Best
Revisado: 06-18-10
It's always great when you can read an author's work and at the end go through a grieving period. Each book of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy did that for me. At the end, I wanted more and mourned the fact that there would be no more--until the next book was available. Now, with Larsson's passing, there will be no more books.
But these are novels that can be reread, or reheard, as the case may be. They are full of intrigue and surprise twists and turns. One might argue whether the main character is Lisbeth Salander or Mikael Blomkvist, but it doesn't matter in the end as they are equally compelling. I love it when things turn out well for the good guys and these books don't disappoint, although Book 2 (Fire), ends uncertainly and you have to wait for Book 3 (Nest) to regain that good feeling.
If anyone decides to pick up the story line and create a book to expand the trilogy, I'll be in line to purchase it.
