Historia
When the Mercenary Guild tried to bend the galaxy's deadliest assassins to their will, the Depik shocked the galaxy by choosing mass suicide to enslavement. Only those Depik not present on their home planet of Khatash survived to retreat to the shadows, to plan, to form alliances, to rebuild and look forward to the day when they could retake their home from the Veetanho invaders and exact revenge.

Why are they space cats?
Revisado: 03-21-25
You have this vast galaxy at your fingertips that can be written about. The authors literally can write anything and everything about the main species in this book, the hunters. I’m OK with the bonding. I’m OK with the head scratches. But to have them as one of the Apex assassins in this series, and then whichever author wrote that they had a hard time opening a drawer inside of a refrigerator?
These two took a wonderful concept, and ruined it for me. Totally broke the immersion of this series and how I view the species now.
Whoever let this through and thought this added to the universe, I hope you aren’t allowed to make that many more decisions. I don’t know, maybe you had an off day or called in sick that day.

Historia
The Omega War is in full swing. Earth has fallen to General Peepo’s army, and the surviving human mercenaries have taken refuge at the hidden Winged Hussars’ base in New Warsaw. As humanity begins to think about how to recover the planet, one thing is obvious - more powerful weapons of war will be needed in the effort. One of the keys to recapturing Earth will be the Raknar of Cartwright’s Cavaliers, but the power sources of many of the giant mecha have become unusable over the course of history.

I was pulled from the story by lazy writing
Revisado: 01-16-25
I can forgive the physical training scene that was described in the beginning of the book because it builds the camaraderie of the unit in a way. I really don’t think that’s how the camaraderie should’ve been built though. Especially if they’re an unit that specializes in deep operations and going undercover and getting into places that other people can’t. I think maybe a unit espionage type game would’ve better and more succinctly described how close they are.
But what really turns me away from this book was the scene in the bar where Alistair met Oren. I’m sorry, but if your unit is this top-notch cracking infiltrator type unit, you aren’t gonna have someone mess up and call you by your rank when you’re trying to infiltrate somewhere. I know it was trying to build tension in the scene, it wasn’t well thought out.
Overall, the story was pretty good. I think Sinclair‘s scorpions could have been written better and more true to who and what they do. A lot of time was spent describing how they work in small units. But yet here you have them fighting a large battle. Just really didn’t make sense. I think this entire book can be summed up in another book in a paragraph or less to describe that they got the parts they needed to get.

Historia
Miles Morales is just your average teenager. He has unexpectedly become totally obsessed with poetry and can never seem to do much more than babble around his crush. Nothing too weird. Oh! Except, just yesterday, he used his Spidey superpowers to save the world (no biggie) from an evil mastermind called The Warden. And the grand prize Miles gets for that is….

Awkward back and forth
Revisado: 11-06-23
The story is hard to follow because of the back-and-forth between first and third person. The poetic structure also adds into the confusion and kills the flow of this novel.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Please redo with a better narrator
Revisado: 06-04-23
Story is classic and timeless.
Narrator is exasperating to listen to. I’ve read the stories countless times. I’ll never finish the series on audible. I don’t know who listened to this drivel and approved it, but they should be fired for incompetence.

When will Mr. Bevine redo this trilogy?
Revisado: 09-03-21
I get putting personal flare on voices for characters being different. I get the flow being different. I do not agree with names being mispronounced. The narrator said Pie-cel.(like the start of Celtic.) What in the world?? That’s part of what makes that character so enjoyable! Many instances of just this made the book awful to listen to.
Also, the narrator randomly puts odd inflections on words. It almost sounds like they cut the audio and inserted these words as a redo.
I doubt I’ll finish this trilogy.

Historia
United States of Japan is set in a gripping alternate history where the Japanese Empire rules over America with huge robots. Is resistance possible in the form of subversive video games? Decades ago, Japan won the Second World War. Americans worship their infallible emperor, and nobody believes that Japan's conduct in the war was anything but exemplary. Nobody, that is, except the George Washingtons, a group of rebels fighting for freedom.

Who hired the narrator?
Revisado: 10-02-19
This narrator's voice is not meant to narrate stories. this was not a good choice for anyone to have to listen to. the quality or lack thereof takes away from the story that's being told. I honestly want my credit back. I enjoy driving and listening to books. I enjoy listening to a book while I'm doing other things. I do not enjoy this book because of the narration. I will have to read this book myself one day when I have time. I will not waste another moment listening to this. do yourself a favor and buy the book to read it. it pisses me off that I have to even give this person one star. just know that in order to get this to publish I have to give Stars, they aren't real. they're fake news.
